4 - Cleaning, hygiene
Important!
Follow strictly those cleaning instruction for guarantee the right
functioning and life time of the appliance.
Other way or cleaning tools could damage the appliance and
be dangerous for the user.
Important!
Neither the appliance nor its individual parts are designed for
being put in dishwashers except the front top cover.
Important!
Before carrying out any cleaning operation, disconnect the
appliance from the mains power supply and be sure that all
the parts have cooled down. Do not clean the appliance with a
pressure cleaner.

4.1 CLEANING IN USE

Remove all encrusted dirt, grease or food residue from the glass
and upper heating plate after every cooking:
- GLASS : using a razor blade scraper (supplied) and a paper
towel

- UPPER Heating plate : using the wavy scraper (supplied) and
a paper towel
4.2 CLEANING AFTER USE (E.G. EACH END OF DAY)
UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE AND BE SURE THAT THE
APPLIANCE HAS SUFFICIENTLY COOLED DOWN TO
BE TOUCHED BY HAND;
STEAM EVACUATION CHAMBER
Remove the front top cover (two screwed button) clean the steam
evacuation openings and grease encrusted using a cloth/sponge
soaked in a detergent; rinse and dry with a clean and dry cloth.
Front top cover could be put into a dishwasher.
Important!
Check the complete cleanliness before to re-install the top
cover
Important!
Be sure to have re-installed the top cover before the using of the
appliance and be sure that there is nothing (clothe/sponge/paper
towel) obstructing the grid.
UPPER HEATING PLATE and SURROUNDING
• Clean the plate using the wavy scraper for fi rst (supplied) and
a paper towel soaked in a detergent; rinse and dry with a clean
and dry cloth.
Important!
Do not use any razor blade or metallic tools or abrasive sponge
on this plate, the coating will be damaged.
• Clean the surrounding using a paper towel soaked in a specifi c
detergent for steel; rinse and dry with a clean and dry cloth.
• Clean the steam evacuation openings using a cloth/sponge soa-
ked in a detergent; rinse and dry with a clean and dry cloth.
COOKING CHAMBER
• Hold the lid down with one hand and unlock the upper heating
plate by pushing the button
• Open the lid carefully and take care that the upper heating
plate removes out of the cooking chamber (in fi nal position the
upper heating plate stands on the glass)

Before using any cleaning product, be sure to read the instruc-
tion and safety instructions accompanying the product and use
appropriate protective equipment and be sure that this cleaning
product is adapted for each materials which compose the unit.
Important!
• Do not use products containing chlorine (chlorine bleach,
hydrochloric acid, etc. ), even if diluted, to clean the steel /
aluminium.
• Do not use corrosive substances (e.g. muriatic acid) to clean
below / close under the appliance.
Important!
The cleanliness of the appliance is strongly dependent of the
frequency of use, the type of sandwich to be cooked, and other
infl uences. The user is responsible for the cleanliness of the
appliance.
Important!
Do not use any razor blade or metallic tools or abrasive sponge
on this upper heating plate, the coating will be damaged.
Important!
Clean regulary those surfaces in order to avoid sticking effect
of the sandwich and future higher cleaning efforts or damage
(due to carbon accumulation).
• Clean the cooking chamber and the housing of the upper heating
plate and the column with a paper towel soaked in a specifi c
detergent for steel; rinse and dry with a clean and dry cloth.
Important!
Do not immerse the upper heating plate in liquid
• Check the position of the upper heating plate: FRONT symbol
to front and remount the upper heating plate by pushing the
column into the central guidance until the locking mecanism is
locked ( CLICK sound)
• Move up and down the upper heating plate to check the
correct functioning
GLASS SURFACE and SURROUDINGS
• Clean the GLASS using a razor blade scraper (supplied) and
a paper towel soaked in a specifi c detergent for glass; rinse and
dry with a clean and dry cloth.
Warning:
Be careful to not damage the glass silicon rod with the razor
blade.
EXTERNAL SURFACES / Handle
• Clean all surfaces daily; dirt can be easily removed when it has
just formed. Do not use steel wool, abrasive powders or chemi-
cal products such as sodium hypochlorite (bleaching powder),
hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid) or other acids to clean these
surfaces; these products rapidly and permanently corrode the
steel or aluminium. Do not use these products even for cleaning
zones next to the appliances, because the vapors can produce
the same destructive effects.
• Do not wash the equipment with pressure lances or direct
jets of water.
• In case of encrusted dirt, grease or food residue, use a cloth/
sponge wiping with the grain of the satin fi nish and rinse often:
rubbing in a circular motion combined with the particles of dirt
on the cloth/sponge could damage the steel's satin fi nish.
• both sides and the back of the appliance to not introduce
water by the louvers.
Take care when cleaning to not damage or unglue the control
panel sticker.
