Intended purpose
The protect.Lumbostyle is a lumbar
support. The product is exclusively to be
used for the orthotic fitting of the lower
back and only on intact skin.
Indications
• For the treatment of painful conditions
of the lumbar spine
• Lumbar sciatica (degenerative cause)
• Spondylosis without vertebral slipping
• Mild Spondylosis / Spondylolisthesis
• Disc protrusion
• Osteochondrosis, spondyloarthrosis
• Irritation of the ISG
Contraindications
None known to date
Mode of action
Controlled compression is applied
through the material and integral
stabilising rods. This supports the trunk
muscles, relieving strain on the lumbar
spine and easing pain.
Comment on Wear
We recommend you do not wear the
product directly on your skin. Wear a
thin t-shirt or undershirt underneath it.
Unless otherwise directed by your
doctor, do not wear the support for more
than 8 hours at a time. After a break of
approx. 2 hours it may be refitted.

Fitting instructions

• (fig. 1) Before putting on the orthosis,
please loosen the straps so that it can
be put on without pulling. Wrap the
orthosis around your abdomen and
make sure it it positioned on the centre
of your back.
• (fig. 2) Afterwards, place the left lock
side on your stomach and then pull the
right lock side far enough over the left
side that it is possible to fasten.
• (fig. 3) Now, pull both tension bands
forward at the same time. You can
adjust the tightness to suit your own
requirements and manage your pain
levels.
• (fig. 4) First, fasten the left tension
band and then the right.
• (fig. 5) The orthosis is on properly when
the lower fastener edge is just above
the groin.
Please take care that trained staff
instruct you when putting on the
support for the first time.
Care instructions
Velcro fasteners should be closed for
washing. Fabric softeners, grease, oil,
lotions and ointments can affect the
bandaging material. Soap residues can
cause skin irritations and wearing of the
material. Wash the product by hand,
preferably using a medi clean detergent,
or in delicate cycle at 30°C using a mild
detergent without fabric conditioners.
• Do not bleach.
• Leave to dry naturally.
• Do not iron.
• Do not dry clean.
