Scope of this guide
This guide describes how to install the HPE
StoreOnce 5500 System within a data center and
establish a basic network connection on a single
1GbE network port. The StoreOnce System can
then be fully configured using the StoreOnce CLI
or the StoreOnce GUI (recommended), as
described in the HPE StoreOnce 5500 System
Installation and Configuration Guide.
The base system consists of a head server unit, a
disk enclosure and a 1U supporting shelf to install
below the disk enclosure. It is compatible with all
HPE standard racks and is scalable from 15 to 280
disks via 4 disk enclosures. Only the base
configuration with 15 disks is illustrated in this guide.
Read the HPE StoreOnce 5500 System Capacity
Upgrade Guide to find out how to install and cable
additional storage correctly.
