3.2 WELDING TORCH ASSEMBLY
After introducing the mobile fi tting M into the protection
K, insert it onto the fi xed fi tting J, by screwing down the
fi tting collar M to avoid air leaking that may jeopardize a
good operation.
Do not dent the contact tip, do not bend the mobile
fi tting M pins.
Screw the protection K onto the panel.
3.3 START-UP
Only skilled personnel should install the machine.
All connections must be carried out according to
current regulations, and in full observance of safety
laws (CEI 26-36/IEC 60974-9 standards).
Connect the gas supply to C fi tting making sure that the
equipment can supply adequate capacity and pressure to
the torch being used.
If the air is supplied from a compressed air cylinder, the
cylinder must be equipped with a pressure regulator;
never connect a compressed air cylinder to the ma-
chine reducer direct. Pressure may be higher than the
reducer capacity with consequent possible explosion
Connect the power cord A: the yellow-green cable wire
must be connected to an effi cient system grounding
socket; the remaining wires must be connected to the
power supply line by means of a switch placed as close
as possible to the cutting area, to allow it to be quickly
shut off in case of emergency.
The capacity of the switch or fuses installed in series with
the switch must be equal to I1eff current drawn by the
device.
The current I1eff absorbed is determined by reading the
technical data shown on the unit in correspondence of
the available supply voltage U1.
Any extension cords must be sized appropriately for the
absorbed current I1max.
4. USE
When the plasma cutting machine is switched on, by tur-
ning the knob B, the display N shows:

- The torch type mounted;
- The length of the assembled torch
Note: The type and length of the torch are automatically
recognized. A few seconds later, the display N shows one
In general, with the H knob you select different items such
as:
- Working mode (CUT, SELF RESTART, GOUGE and
SPOT MARK);
-
Working current;
-
work pressure;
-
Cutting gas;
-
material
By briefl y pressing the H knob on the single selected task,
it becomes bold and can be modifi ed.
4.1 CUTTING ("CUT" OPERATING MODE)
CUT
MILD STEEL
Air 5.5 bar
Choose the type of material to be cut (Mild Steel, Stain-
less Steel or aluminum) and the cutting gas (air or nitro-
gen N2).
Then adjust the cutting current depending on:
- the type of the chosen material and the thickness to be
cut;
- the gas used
following directions shown in the cutting tables.
During the current regulation, the display N shows the
correct nozzle diameter to be used.
Now you can set the correct operating pressure by se-
lecting the correspondent task and pressing the knob H:
now the gas comes out of the torch.
Turn now the knob D of the pressure reducer.
The correct working pressure is signaled by central leds,
beside the set value. If pressure is too low or, conversely,
too high, these are highlighted by the fl ashing LEDs, re-
spectively the left or the right.
When pressure is adjusted, lock the knob D by pushing
it down.
Cutting speeds can be read on display N (both "quality"
Vq, and "production" Vp) in function of n the thickness,
the material and the fi xed current. In particular, by select-
ing the material and pressing down the H knob, you will
see the following screen shot:
