How to connect afterheating

After heater
Afterheating
Dantherm Air Handling offers water and electrical based afterheating. The heating is
controlled by a 0-10V output signal to a valve actuator and a duct sensor.
If afterheating is connected it can be adjusted in accordance with one or more of the
following 3 principles:
T2) Afterheating for comfort supply air:
If afterheating is only required to prevent supply of cold air or draught inconvenience,
the T2 supply air temperature can be used as setpoint and regulation temperature.
(Factory setting +18°C)
T3) Afterheating for heating of house or rooms:
If afterheating is used as primary heat source for the whole house, T3 extract air tem-
perature can be used as setpoint and regulation temperature. (Factory setting = OF,
meaning that heating is not regulated after this setpoint)
T5) Afterheating for heating of rooms:
If afterheating is used as primary heat source for the whole house and/or specific
rooms, T5 temperature measured in the remote control can be used as regulating tem-
perature in the room where it is placed. (More remote controls can be connected) (Fac-
tory setting = OF, meaning that heating is not regulated after this setpoint)
Connect the afterheater as follows: (See also wiring diagram in the appendix)
Step
Electrical afterheater
Connect the HAC 1 as described on page 5
1
2
Connect the control signal J12,
(/terminal 0V and 0-10V) to the
afterheater control
3
Connect power to the electrical
heater direct from mains power
4
Connect the T2AH duct sensor to the J12 (terminal T2AH and 0V), and place
it after the afterheater coil in the T2 supply duct, minimum 0,5 m. away from
the heater element.
5
6
Power up the system
7
Connect a HRC 2 remote control to the ventilation unit
8
Follow the procedure in the HRC 2 Installer instruction to see and change the
setpoint for afterheating.
Action
Water based afterheater
Connect the control signal J12 (terminal
0V and 0-10V) to the valve actuator
Connect the frost protection sensor to the
J12 (terminal T2TF and 0V), and place it on
the coldest place of the heater coil/ water
pipe.
Caution:
This does not ensure against bad water
circulation or power failure frost damages.
Connect the 24 VAC trafo to the terminal
block as described on the wiring diagram.
