Note:
It is your own choice whether or not to activate the PIN code system. However,
if you choose to activate the system, your BeoSound 1 is protected against theft
with a four-digit PIN code.
The use of a PIN code means that if your BeoSound 1 is disconnected from the
mains for more than 30 minutes, the system can only be activated again by keying
in your own personal PIN code. If the PIN code is not entered, the BeoSound 1
automatically switches to standby after 3 minutes. If a wrong PIN code is entered,
you get fi ve attempts to key in the code, after which the system is switched off
and cannot be switched on for 3 hours.
If you have forgotten the PIN code, you can request a fi ve-digit Master code from
Bang & Olufsen.
The PIN code system is easily activated, and you choose the four-digit code

twice and then STOP with only two seconds between when the

If the PIN code system is activated and your BeoSound 1 is disconnected from the
mains, you are requested to key in the four-digit PIN code when the system is fi rst
switched on. The cue Pin is displayed shortly. The display changes to four squares

is shown in the display.
Press STORE to store the displayed digit and proceed to the next.
The digit is replaced by a square and the next underscore will blink.
Press STORE when the last digit is displayed BeoSound 1 switches on to the
selected source. If radio was used last, the program number is shown in the display.
The PIN code system can be deactivated at any time. Enter the PIN code and then
the system can be deactivated.

Press twice when the set is in standby. Press STOP to key in the four-digit PIN
code. PIN appears briefl y, and then four squares appear.

Press or to reveal digits. The squares change to under-scores and the fi rst digit
is shown in the display.
Press STORE to store the displayed digit and proceed to the next.
The digit is replaced by a square and the next underscore will blink.
Press STORE when the last digit is entered.
PIN appears briefl y, then the display returns to four underscores.
Press DELETE. "dEL" appears in the display.
Press STORE to deactivate the PIN code system.
If a wrong code is entered the second time, the cue "Err" appears in the display,
and you must enter and confi rm the code again.
If you accidentally store a wrong digit, pressing STOP will delete all digits again,
and you can enter new ones.
