1 Applications
TVCCD-90PIR has been designed for applications in video
monitoring systems and alarm systems. The unit consists of a
CCD B/W camera with pinhole lens, a microphone, and a
passive infrared motion detector.
Picture and sound of the area to be monitored are taken via
camera and microphone. The motion detector with NO relay
output allows to evaluate movement detected in the area to be
monitored. If movement is detected, e. g. video recording can
be started or a time-lapse video recorder can be switched from
time-lapse recording to real-time recording. Another example
is the connection to the alarm input of a video splitter or a
multiplexer which, upon response of the detector, switches to
the exclusive display of the camera.

2 Safety Notes

The unit corresponds to the directive for electromagnetic com-
patibility 89/336/EEC.
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it against
humidity and heat (admissible ambient temperature range
0 °C to 40 °C).
Never touch the surface of the sensor when the housing is
open, otherwise the sensor might be damaged.
If the unit is used for other purposes than originally intended,
if it is not correctly installed or not repaired in an expert way,
no liability for any damage will be accepted.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means chemi-
cals or water.
If the unit is to be put out of operation permanently, take it to
a local recycling plant for disposal.

3 Installation

The unit should be located in such a way that the person trig-
gering the alarm is moving across the area to be monitored.
Important note concerning the mounting location!
To eliminate the risk of false alarms as far as possible, the unit
must not be subjected to draft or great temperature varia-
tions. Therefore, it should not point towards windows, outside
doors or heat sources such as radiators, ovens, uncovered
incandescent lamps, etc. or placed next to them. In any case,
also avoid direct sunlight falling on the unit.
1) Fasten the bracket (6) on the wall and push the two pins of
the bracket into the corresponding holes (1) on the rear
side of the unit so that they lock into place (see fig. 1).
2) Remove the front cover of the housing.
3) Pull the connecting cable for the motion detector through
the cable inlet (2).
4) Connect the unit (see chapter 4) and make the adjustments
for the motion detector (see chapter 5).
