Repairs

Replacing the sensor head
(figures on page XVIII)
Replace the sensor head in the following
cases:
• The heating coil is encrusted
• The sensor head or heating coil is
deformed
• The sensor heating has failed
(no steam formation)
Removing the sensor head
(figures on page XVIII)
CAUTION! Hot brake fluid! Risk of
burns. Leave the brake fluid to cool
before removing the sample beaker.
1. Switch the device off and disconnect
it from the mains
2. Lift the measuring arm and hold it in
place
3. Pull the sensor head straight down
with your other hand
Important: Do not bend or damage the
temperature sensor which sits in the mid-
dle of the measuring arm when removing
the sensor head.

Installing the sensor head
(figures on page XIX)
1. Align the sensor head in such a way
that one of the two arrows on its
housing points forwards
2. Carefully push the sensor head
with the middle small hole over the
temperature up to the holding fixture
on the measuring arm. The contact
pins of the sensor head must be
positioned directly under the contact
jacks of the measuring arm
3. Push the sensor head upwards until
the snap-in hooks of the measuring
arm clip into place in the grooves on
the sensor head
Important: Do not bend the contact pins
of the sensor head when inserting them
into the jacks.
