12. Place cover caps (6) and lock with key (3).
13. Mount rear carrier bar (2) in the same way.

WARNING
Before each installation, each trip and also during
long journeys, check all screws of the basic rack to
ensure that they are seated firmly and retighten if
necessary. Repeat these checks at regular
intervals, depending on road surface conditions, at
the latest after 1,552.5 miles (2,500 km) of
continuous use.
Do not use any lubricants on the screws or the
basic carrier. There is otherwise a risk that the
screws loosen, and the basic rack may come loose
from your vehicle together with the load, thus
injuring yourself and other persons and/or causing
material damage, including to your vehicle.
Installing the cover strip
If no fitting roof attachments are used, cover strips (5)
should be mounted to minimize wind noise.

Removal
1.
Unlock cover caps (6) with key (3) and remove
them from basic carrier bars (1).
2.
Remove screws (9) with lever (11) from fastening
points (10).
3.
Take off basic carrier bars (1) from the vehicle
roof.
Note
Store the basic carrier bars and cover caps in a clean
and safe place.
4.
Close the cover caps completely.
Repeat fitting
1.
Open the cover caps completely.
2.
Place the basic carrier bars (1) as shown in front
left installation location (7) on the vehicle roof so
that screw (9) is exactly above fastening
point (10).
3.
Screw in screw (9) with lever (11) tightly.
4.
Move lever (11) to position I or II so that cover
caps (6) can be placed on.
5.
Place on cover caps (6) and lock with key (3).
6.
Mount rear carrier bar (2) in the same way.
