Important safety notes

WARNING
The roof load raises the vehicle's center of gravity,
thereby affecting vehicle handling. Do not exceed
the vehicle's maximum permissible roof load; see
the vehicle Operator's Manual.
Do not exceed the vehicle's maximum permissible
roof load and the permissible gross vehicle weight,
even when additional equipment is fitted to the
basic carrier bars (such as roofboxes, ski racks
etc.). Otherwise, the basic carriers, equipment
mounted to the basic carriers and/or loads may
come loose from the vehicle, resulting in injury to
you and other persons and/or damage to property,
including your vehicle.
Observe the change in vehicle dimensions when the
basic rack is installed.
If difficulties arise during installation, please contact a
qualified specialist workshop. Mercedes-Benz
recommends that you use a Mercedes-Benz Center.
Always adapt your driving style to the prevailing road,
traffic and weather conditions and drive with particular
care if the roof is laden.
For safety and fuel economy reasons, the basic rack
should be removed from the vehicle if not in use.
Do not use an automatic car wash when the basic rack
is installed on the vehicle.
For safety reasons, Mercedes-Benz recommends that
you only use accessories for the basic carrier bar which
have been approved for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
When mounting equipment on the basic carrier bars
(roofbox, ski rack, etc.), please observe the respective
installation instructions of the manufacturer.
Spare parts for the New Alustyle basic carrier bars are
available from your Mercedes-Benz Service Center.
