Loosen screws (12) with tool (4) by a quarter of a
turn.
Note
Loosening screws (12) allows you to precisely adjust
the basic carrier bars to the width of the vehicle roof.
This adjustment only needs to be carried out at the first
fitting.
4.
Place basic carrier bars (1) as shown in front left
installation location (7) on the vehicle roof so that
screw (9) is exactly above fastening point (10).
5.
Lift lever (11) and screw in screw (9) at front left
installation location (7) so it is hand-tight.
6.
Tighten screws (12) at front left installation
location (7) with tool (4).
7.
Tighten screws (12) at front right installation
location with tool (4).
8.
Lift up basic carrier bars (1) at the front right
installation location approx. 0.4 inch (1 cm) out of
the bracket.

Important
If the basic carrier bars are tensioned and cannot
be replaced in the bracket without friction,
screws (12) at the front right installation location
must be loosened again, the basic carrier bars
realigned and steps 7 and 8 repeated.
9.
Replace basic carrier bars (1) at the front right
installation location carefully in the bracket.
10. Lift up lever (11) and screw in screw (9) at the
front right installation location so it is hand-tight.
11. Move lever (11) to position I or II so that cover
caps (6) can be placed on.
Important
The levers are for tightening the screws. In
conjunction with correctly positioned and locked
protective caps, they secure the basic carrier bar
from coming loose.
