niedriger der dB-Wert, desto abrupter erfolgt der
Pegelanstieg beim Aufziehen des Faders bzw. die
Pegelabsenkung beim Schließen des Faders,
und dementsprechend härter wirkt die Ein-/Aus-
blendung (siehe dazu auch auf Seite 9, Abb. 4 die
Kanalfaderkurve für die drei Schalterpositionen).
7) Mit dem Balanceregler BAL (5) des Kanals die
gewünschte Balance einstellen.
8) Zum Aussteuern von Kanal 2 den Crossfader (12)
ganz nach rechts schieben, und die gleichen Schrit-
te durchführen wie bei der Einstellung von Kanal 1.
5.1.2 DJ-Mikrofonkanal
1) Die Geräte, die auf Kanal 1 und 2 spielen sollen,
ausschalten bzw. auf Pause stellen.
2) Die Klangregler (3) und den Panoramaregler (4)
zunächst in die Mittelposition stellen.
3) Anhand des VU-Meters mit dem Pegelregler (2)
den Mikrofonkanal optimal aussteuern.
4) Mit den Klangreglern – HIGH für die Höhen, MID
für die Mitten, BASS für die Tiefen – den ge-
wünschten Klang einstellen (max. ±15 dB). Da
sich Klangeinstellungen auf den Kanalpegel aus-
wirken, muß dieser nach der Klangeinstellung
ggf. korrigiert werden.
5) Mit dem Panoramaregler PAN (4) das Monosi-
gnal des Kanals wie gewünscht auf der Stereo-
Basis verteilen.
5.2 Überblenden zwischen Kanal 1 und 2
1) Die Kanäle 1 und 2 optimal aussteuern (siehe
Kap. 5.1.1).
2) Mit der Reverse-Taste (20) die Kanäle 1 und 2
dem Crossfader (12) zuordnen:
Taste nicht gedrückt, Reverse-Anzeige (11) über
dem Crossfader leuchtet grün
linke Seite des Crossfaders:
rechte Seite des Crossfaders: Kanal 2
Taste gedrückt, Reverse-Anzeige (11) über dem

7) Adjust the desired balance with the balance con-
trol BAL (5).
8) For optimum level control of channel 2, slide the
crossfader (12) to the right stop and perform the
same steps as for the adjustment of channel 1.
5.1.2 DJ microphone channel
1) Switch off the units to play on channels 1 and 2 or
set them to pause.
2) First set the equalizer controls (3) and the pan-
orama control (4) to mid-position.
3) Control the microphone channel to an optimum
level by means of the VU meter with the level
control (2).
4) Adjust the desired sound with the equalizer con-
trols: HIGH for the high frequencies, MID for the
midrange frequencies, BASS for the low fre-
quencies (max. ±15 dB). As sound adjustments
affect the channel level, it may be necessary to
correct the channel level after the sound adjust-
ment.
5) By means of the panorama control PAN (4), dis-
tribute the mono signal of the channel on the
stereo basis, as desired.
5.2 Crossfading between channels 1 and 2
1) Control channels 1 and 2 to their optimum level
(see chapter 5.1.1).
2) Use the reverse button (20) to assign channels 1
and 2 to the crossfader (12):
button not pressed: reverse LED (11) above the
crossfader shows green
left side of crossfader: channel 1
right side of crossfader: channel 2
button pressed: reverse LED (11) above the
crossfader shows red
left side of crossfader: channel 2
right side of crossfader: channel 1
3) Now crossfading between channels 1 and 2 is
possible with the crossfader:

4) Mit dem Regler CURVE (6) läßt sich die Über-
blendcharakteristik für den Crossfader stufenlos
einstellen:
Steht der Regler ganz links (Position „N" = „nor-
mal"), wird mit dem Crossfader weich überge-
blendet (Pegel des eingeblendeten Kanals steigt
langsam an, während der Pegel des ausgeblen-
deten Kanals langsam abfällt). Je weiter der Reg-
ler nach rechts aufgedreht wird (in Richtung „F" =
„fast"), desto abrupter verläuft die Überblendung.
Siehe dazu auch die graphische Darstellung der
Crossfadercharakteristik bei Linksanschlag, Mit-
telstellung und Rechtsanschlag des Reglers
CURVE auf Seite 9, Abb. 5.
5) Anhand des VU-Meters (10) mit dem Masterreg-
ler (15) den gewünschten Pegel einstellen, der an
den Masterausgängen (30) zur Verfügung steht.
Damit das VU-Meter den Masterpegel anzeigt,
darf die Umschalttaste (24) des VU-Meters nicht
gedrückt sein (bei nicht gedrückter Taste leuchtet
die rote Anzeige MASTER links neben der Taste).
Bei Übersteuerungen (rote LEDs des VU-Me-
ters leuchten auf) den Masterpegel reduzieren.
Kanal 1
5.3 Signale der Kanäle 1 und 2 mischen
Sollen Kanal 1 und 2 gleich laut zu hören sein, den
Crossfader (12) in die Mittelposition schieben.
Soll ein Kanal leiser als der andere zu hören sein,

den Crossfader entsprechend weiter nach links oder
rechts schieben oder den Crossfader in die Mittelpo-

4) The control CURVE (6) allows continuous adjust-
ment of the crossfading characteristic for the
crossfader:
If the control is at the left stop (position "N" = "nor-
mal"), there is a soft crossfading with the cross-
fader (the level of the channel faded in increases
slowly while the level of the channel faded out
decreases slowly). The further the control is
turned to the right (in the direction "F" = "fast"),
the more abrupt is the crossfading.
For this purpose, also see the graph of the cross-
fader characteristic on page 9, fig. 5 with the con-
trol CURVE at the left stop, in mid-position, and at
the right stop.
5) Adjust the desired level available at the master
outputs (30) by means of the VU meter (10) with
the master control (15). To indicate the master
level on the VU meter, the selector switch (24) of
the VU meter must not be pressed (if the button is
not pressed, the red LED MASTER on the left of
the button lights up).
In case of overload (red LEDs of the VU meter
light up) reduce the master level.
5.3 Mixing the signals of channels 1 and 2
If channels 1 and 2 are to be heard at the same
volume, slide the crossfader (12) to mid-position.
If one channel is to be heard at a lower volume
than the other, slide the crossfader further to the left
or to the right correspondingly, or slide the cross-
fader to mid-position and adjust the desired volume
ratio with the channel faders (9 and 23).

5.4 Abhören der Signale über einen Kopfhörer
Die Vorhörfunktion (PFL = Pre Fader Listening) er-
möglicht es, die Kanäle 1 und 2 über einen Stereo-
Kopfhörer an der Buchse PHONES (25) abzuhören,
auch wenn der jeweilige Kanal ausgeblendet ist. So
kann z. B. auf einer CD der gewünschte Titel ausge-
wählt oder der richtige Zeitpunkt zum Einblenden
einer Tonquelle abgepaßt werden.
Wahlweise ist es auch möglich, über den Kopfhö-
rer das laufende Musikprogramm vor dem Master-
regler (15) abzuhören.
ACHTUNG: Stellen Sie die Kopfhörerlautstärke
nie sehr hoch ein. Hohe Lautstärken können auf
Dauer das Gehör schädigen! Das menschliche
Ohr gewöhnt sich an große Lautstärken und emp-
findet sie nach einiger Zeit als nicht mehr so
hoch. Darum eine hohe Lautstärke nach der Ge-
wöhnung nicht weiter erhöhen.
5.4.1 Vorhören der Eingangskanäle über
Kopfhörer
1) Zum Vorhören der Eingangskanäle in Stereo,
den Schalter ASSIGN (18) in die linke Position
„CH 1 – CH 2" stellen, und den Überblendregler
FADER (19) wie folgt einstellen:
Soll Kanal 1 abgehört werden, den Regler
ganz nach links schieben (Position „CH 1").
Soll Kanal 2 abgehört werden, den Regler
ganz nach rechts schieben (Position „CH 2").
Soll das Mischsignal beider Kanäle zu hören
sein, den Regler in die Mitte stellen.
Zum Vorhören der Eingangskanäle in Mono –
getrennt auf dem linken und rechten Kanal des
Kopfhörers – den Schalter ASSIGN (18) in die
rechte Position „CH 1/CH 2 SPLIT" stellen, und
den Überblendregler FADER (19) wie folgt ein-
stellen:
Soll Kanal 1 auf dem linken Kopfhörerkanal
abgehört werden, den Regler ganz nach links
schieben (Position „CH 1").
5.4 Monitoring the signals via headphones
The pre-fader listening facility (PFL) allows to moni-
tor channels 1 and 2 via stereo headphones at the
jack PHONES (25), even if the respective channel is
faded out. Thus, it is possible e. g. to select the de-
sired title on a CD or to match the right moment for
fading in an audio source.
Alternatively, it is also possible to monitor the cur-
rently playing music programme ahead of the mas-
ter control (15) via the headphones.
CAUTION: Do not adjust the headphones to a
very high volume. Permanent high volumes may
damage your hearing! The human ear will get ac-
customed to high volumes which do not seem to
be that high after some time. Therefore, do not fur-
ther increase a high volume after getting used to it.
5.4.1 Pre-fader listening of the input channels
via headphones
1) For pre-fader listening of the input channels in
stereo, set the ASSIGN switch (18) to the left
position "CH 1 – CH 2" and adjust the control
FADER (19) as follows:
If channel 1 is to be monitored, slide the con-
trol to the left stop (position "CH1").
If channel 2 is to be monitored, slide the con-
trol to the right stop (position "CH2").
If the mixed signal of the two channels is to be
heard, set the control to mid-position.
For pre-fader listening of the input channels in
mono – separately on the left and the right chan-
nel of the headphones – set the ASSIGN switch
(18) to the right position "CH 1/CH 2 SPLIT" and
adjust the control FADER (19) as follows:
If channel 1 is to be monitored on the left head-
phone channel, slide the control to the left stop
(position "CH 1").
If channel 2 is to be monitored on the right
headphone channel, slide the control to the
right stop (position "CH 2").
If the two channels are to be heard simul-
taneously – channel 1 left, channel 2 right – set
the control to mid-position.
