Programming the speed controller

Mode 2 (powered model): no brake or soft-
start, but with: temperature monitoring and
low-voltage speed reduction, stall protection and
speed limiting.
Mode 3 (helicopter mode): no brake, tem-
perature monitoring, stall protection or speed
limiting, but with: soft-start and speed regulation.
Mode 4 (competition): no soft start, temperatu-
re monitoring, low voltage detection, stall protec-
tion or speed limiting, but with: brake (hard).
Once the system has been used for the first
time, the commutation timing is set to "auto-
matic".
DESCRIPTION OF SET-UP PROCEDURE
The set-up procedure is initiated when the con-
troller is switched on and detects a signal which
can be interpreted as full-throttle (pulse width
longer than 1.5 ms) for more than five seconds.
· Switch on the transmitter, move throttle stick
to full-throttle
· Switch on receiver and controller
· After about five seconds you hear a rising
triple tone
· If you are using Li-Po cells, wait a further five
seconds until you hear a second triple tone
· Pull the stick right back (motor stopped)
· Wait until you hear the audible signal corres-
ponding to the mode you wish to use; i.e.
if you wish to program mode 3, wait for the
triple tone etc.
· Move the stick back to full-throttle and wait for
confirmation
· If you do not wish to set a separate neutral
position, disconnect the battery, and the job is
done.
· Otherwise move the stick to the neutral pos-
ition (windmill point) and wait for confirmation,
then disconnect the battery - job done.
