Introduction and Safety Notes
Dear customer, congratulations on your choice
of the "Compact Control 10" speed controller.
This unit is controlled by a micro-processor and
is designed for use with a three-phase motor
with or without sensors.
If you wish to use a motor with sensors, please
note that they do not need to be connected
to the controller. This unit can only be used to
control a single motor.
A technical or other fault of an electrical or
mechanical nature in the power system could
cause the controller to enter an unpredictable
state. The loss of any part of the power system
(e.g. a propeller blade) may result in serious
damage to property or severe personal injury.
The CE certificate supplied with the speed
controller does not absolve you from the respon-
sibility of operating the controller competently
and with due care.
The controller is designed exclusively for use
with radio control systems. Its use in a model
designed for carrying humans is PROHIBITED.
The controller is not protected against reversed
polarity. Connecting a battery with reversed
polarity could cause irreparable damage; such
damage is not covered by the guarantee.
The electronic components are sensitive to
damp. If the controller becomes wet and fails to
work, please send it to your nearest Graupner
Service department for checking. Use the speed
controller only in conjunction with high-quality
batteries which guarantee a constant supply of
energy, as spikes of excessive voltage could
also lead to irreparable damage to the controller.
Never disconnect the drive battery when the
motor is running, as this could also cause dama-
ge to the controller.
bringen.
Please be very careful when you switch off your
receiver: when you switch the system off, it may
send a signal to the Compact Control 10 which
could cause it to turn your motor on unexpected-
ly. If in any doubt, read the instructions supplied
with the receiver you are using.
Protect the speed controller from vibration.
When the controller is installed in a model,
provide a good flow of cooling air over it from
the outside.

Introduction and Safety Notes
The length of the cables between the speed
controller and the battery (+ / - terminals) should
be no more than 20 cm. The battery cables
should also be kept as short as possible, and for
this reason it is always best to use battery packs
consisting of series-wired cells with soldered
connections. Never leave the drive battery
connected when the model is not in use.
The Compact Control 10 controller will only work
properly if it is connected correctly, and if you
observe all our recommendations.
If the motor should be damaged (e.g. short-
circuit when accelerating), the speed controller's
temperature sensor will be triggered to avoid
any damage. Nevertheless, switch the motor off
immediately to avoid damage to the controller.
Note: remember that the controller is not
capable of determining all the problems which
may occur due to external influences, such as
a short-circuit in the motor wiring. Please note
also that the controller cannot necessarily limit
the current (power supply) in such a way as to
protect any motor you may use. For example, if
you use a Compact Control 10 and your motor's
safe limit is only 5 Amps, then the controller
cannot protect your motor.
Note also that ...
... the cables of your radio control system must
be checked at regular intervals. Ensure that
there is no trace of oxidation on the conduc-
tors, and that the cable insulation is in good
condition;
... there should be a space of at least 5 cm
between the receiver and the controller and
electrical components of the power system and
cables. The high-current cables can generate
magnetic fields which may cause interference
to the receiver.
Before flying or operating a model with this
controller you should carry out a thorough range
check. Ask a friend to help you by holding your
model. Collapse the transmitter aerial and
walk away to a distance of 50 m, then apply
half-throttle to the motor and ensure that all
transmitter commands are carried out correctly
and instantly (no false or delayed response). It
is essential that you have full control of all your
model's command functions at all times.
