• Start your GPS routing software with the relevant route data of the route that you visit. Make
sure that your software is set to COM port (this is usually already set by default). You can now
use your GPS software in accordance with its operating instructions; other settings might be
required. Observe, however, the operating instructions on the software.
• At initial start-up, or if you have transported the turned off Bluetooth GPS Logger more than
500 km, we recommend that you position the Bluetooth GPS Logger outdoors (direct line of
sight) to ensure a perfect reception and correct positioning.
• To turn the Bluetooth GPS Logger off, press and hold the „ON/OFF" button (4) for about 2 sec-
onds.
Reception
Reception problems may arise in the following situations:
IGPS signals are blocked in tunnels.
Covering the device will lead to the suppression of the GPSsignal
reception.
The GPS signal is blocked inside buildings.
In lateral buildings (especially in high buildings, such as sky-
scrapers), the GPS signal is low and reception problems may
arise.
In forests, or when crossing densely vegetated areas, the GPS
signal is low and disturbances may arise.
Other reasons for a reduced reception quality and/or disturbances of the receivedsignal:
• In vehicles, sun visors can reduce or completely block the signal reception.
• walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• coated/metallised insulated glass
• Proximity to metallic and conductive objects
• Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-
controlled headphones, radio-controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby
phones etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• Proximity to improperly shielded or uncovered operating computers or other electric appli-
ances
