Placement
Note: The light will only come on when motion is detected at dusk/night if
the [AUTO/OFF] selector is set to AUTO.
For maximum efficiency:
• In order to prevent the light from being activated inadvertently it should be placed
in a position in which it will not be affected by heat sources such as barbecues or
air conditioning units.
• The PIR detector might also be sensitive to passing traffic, ventilation systems or
sources of electromagnetic interference such as transformers.
• Do not aim the PIR detector towards any reflective surfaces such as large glass
surfaces, pools or smooth white walls. These surfaces can reflect movement
which will give false readings to the PIR detector and cause it to turn on the light
inadvertently.
• The PIR detector works best for
detecting movement passing
across it. Movements directly
towards or away from the PIR
detector are harder to detect.
Mounting
Solar light
1. Remove the back of the light by
undoing the two cap nuts.
• The light should be installed at a height
of 1.8–2.5 m. Try to mount the wall
light so that its solar cell can take maxi-
mum advantage of available sunlight.
2. Use the back panel of the light as a
template to mark out the position of
the 3 mounting holes. Note: Make sure
that the back panel is the right way up.
It has a  UP to indicate the top.
