Warnings
• The "MOVENO DWIR-M" series motors have been designed for the automation
of shutters and awnings; any other use is considered improper and is prohibited.
• These motors are intended for residential use. Maximum continuous operating
time is 4 minutes with a 20% cycle. • When the selecting the motor based on
the application requirements, the nominal torque and operating time shown in the
rating plate must be considered. The minimum diameter of the tube on which the
motor can be installed is 40 mm for MOVENO-U, 52 mm for MOVENO-Y in the
version with torque up to 35Nm; 60 mm for MOVENO-Y in the version with torque
over 35Nm and 70 mm for MOVENO-Z. • The motor must be installed by qualified
personnel in compliance with current safety regulations. • All product installation
and maintenance operations must be performed with the automation disconnected
from the power mains. As a precaution, affix a notice with the text "WARNING:
MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" on the disconnect device. • Before starting instal-
lation procedures, move away all electric cables not involved in the work and deac-
tivate all mechanisms not required for motor-driven operation of the shutter. • If the
product is installed at a height of less than 2.5 m from the floor or other support
surface, the moving parts must be protected with a suitable covering, to avoid
inadvertent access. For protection, refer to the instruction manual of the shutter,
ensuring that future access for maintenance purposes is guaranteed. • On sun
awnings, a minimum horizontal distance of 40 cm must be guaranteed between
the awning completely open and any fixed object positioned in front. • The PVC
power supply cable supplied with the MOVENO DWIR-M series is ideal for external
installation. • During installation, handle the product with care, avoiding the risk of
crushing, impact, dropping or contact with any type of liquid, do not insert sharp
objects in the motor, do not drill or insert screws on the motor exterior and do not
place the product in the vicinity of heat sources or naked flames (fig. 1). • To control
the product, use exclusively hold-to-run type pushbuttons, i.e. which must remain
pressed for the entire manoeuvre. • Do not use multiple reverser switches for the
same motor nor command multiple motors using the same reverser switch (fig. 1).
If necessary, use the special STOBAG accessory "
tons in sight of the shutter but far from moving parts. Position the pushbuttons to
the side of the shutter, in the location of the power cables routed from the tubular
motor and the electric mains. Position the buttons at a height of at least 1.5 m from
the floor. • The product packaging material must be disposed of in full observance
of current local legislation governing waste disposal. • During a manoeuvre, check
the automation and keep all persons at a safe distance until the movement has
2.1) Electrical connections
Warning! - The power supply must be fitted with a device that enables the
tubular motor to be disconnected from the mains. The device must have an
opening distance bet ween contacts that allows complete disconnection in the
conditions envisaged by overvoltage category III in ac cordance with the rules
of installation. This device is not supplied with the product.
Warning! - Carefully follow all the connection instructions. If you have any
doubts do not make experiments but consult the relevant technical specifica-
tions sheets which are also available on the web site "www.stobag.com".

The motor's electrical "up" and "down" phases are interchangeable, since the former causes the motor to rotate in one direction, the latter in the opposite direction.
The up and down movements are determined by the side from which the motor is inserted in the winding roller.
To change the direction of rotation, switch the brown and black conductors.
2.2) Cable exit direction
(this chapter is related to the MOVENO-Z version only).
If one wishes to change the exit direction of the cable, simply:
1. Remove the protection and pull it towards the outside.
2. Bend the cable in the desired direction.
3. Replace the protection, pushing it firmly into its location.

3) Limit switch adjustment

The MOVENO DWIR-M series tubular motors are equipped with a system of electromechanical limit switches that interrupt the power supply when the awning or shutter reaches
the opening or closing limit. To adjust these limit positions according to your requirements, turn the two adjustment screws that control the "UP" (stop in the raised position) and
"DOWN" (stop in the lowered position) movement of the awning/shutter. For proper identification of the adjustment screws see figure 7 or 8 depending on whether the motor is
to the left or right. For externally-mounted shutters, see figure 9 or 10. The limit switch positions are preset by the manufacturer at approximately 3 shaft rotations.
"DOWN" adjustment:
1. Operate the motor so that it rotates in the "DOWN" direction (▼).
2. Wait for the motor to stop (because the limit switch ▼ has been triggered).
3. Turn the adjustment screw for the DOWN movement ▼ clockwise (+), until you
reach the desired stopping position (if you turn the screw further, the motor will
stop in the new position).
4) What to do if...
Though an electrical phase is supplied with power, the motor does not turn: Check to see if the thermal overload protection has triggered (in this case just
wait for the motor to cool down); then make sure that the motor is powered at the correct mains voltage, measuring between the Common wire and the supplied electrical
phase; finally try powering the opposite electrical phase.
Turn the adjustment screw a few times in a clockwise (+) direction to check that the limit switch has been correctly adjusted and that both have triggered.
If the motor still does not turn there might be a serious malfunction.

activate any control devices and if the latter are automatic, disconnect the power
supply. • The product should not be used by children or people with impaired physi-
cal, sensorial or mental capacities or who have not received adequate training in the
safe use of the product. • Do not allow children to play with fixed control devices. •
Check the balance springs (if any) and power cords at regular intervals for signs of
wear. • For maintenance and repairs contact a qualified technician.

1) Product description

The MOVENO DWIR-M tubular motors, versions "MOVENO-U" Ø35mm; "MOV-
ENO-Y" Ø45mm, and "MOVENO-Z" Ø58mm (fig.2), are electric motors equipped
with RPM reduction and terminating at one end with a shaft on which the driving
wheels can be mounted.
The motor must be fitted inside the winding tube, where it can raise or lower the
roller shutter or awning. These motors are equipped with an internal electric limit
switch that, when properly adjusted, stops the movement of the shutter/awning
when it reaches the desired position.
2) Installation
Warning! - Follow all installation instructions with care. Warning! -
Incorrect installation may cause serious injury.
Proceed as follows to prepare the motor:
1. Position the limit switch crown (E) on the motor (A) until it fits into the corre-
sponding limit switch ring (F); make sure that the two grooves match. Push it into
position as shown in Fig. 4. 2. Mount the drive wheel (D) on the motor shaft. On
MOVENO-U the wheel snaps on automatically. 3. On MOVENO-Y, fasten the drive
wheel with the snap ring. On MOVENO-Z fix the drive wheel with the washer and
M12 nut. 4. Fit the assembled motor into the winding roller until the crown (E) is fully
inserted. 5. Finally, secure the motor head to the special support (C) with the spacer
(if any), using the clips or split pin (B).

An incorrect connection may be dangerous and cause damage to the
system.
The cable used for the electrical connections of the MOVENO DWIR-M motor has
4 (*) wires: electrical UP phase, electrical DOWN phase, Common wire (usually con-
nected to the Neutral) and Earth (*) (unipotential protection connection). For the elec-

"UP" adjustment:
1. Give the up ▲ adjustment screw a few anti-clockwise (-) turns.
2. Operate the motor so that it rotates in the "UP" direction (▲).
3. Wait for the motor to stop (because the limit switch ▲ has been triggered).
4. Turn the adjustment screw for the UP movement ▲ clockwise (+), until you reach
the desired stopping position (if you turn the screw further, the motor will stop in
the new position).

are not supplied with the product.
Note: during the installation and
adjustment operations, when no
final electrical connections exist,
the motor can be controlled using
