REDWELL
DEAR CLIENT,
This manual includes important information for the installation of your Redwell infrared heating element. You have acquired an ecologic,
economic heater and are thereby making an effective contribution in saving the environment.
The Redwell infrared heating system proves itself through simple installation, flexibility in the assembling and freedom from maintenance.
So you can enjoy long use of your infrared-heating element and to assure your safety, please read the instructions before installation carefully.
Keep this manual at hand and never pass on this infrared heating element without the manual.
The infrared heating element does not work on the principle of convection heat but is a radiant heater. Therefore, it is possible during
the start-up that cold areas (furniture, walls, ceiling and floors) need to be warmed up first. If you don't immediately have a comfor-
table feeling of warmth, then let the heater run for several hours, or even several days if necessary, until a comfortable indoor climate
is reached. As soon as the solid areas have warmed up, a comfortable warmth will spread throughout the room and then you can
pare down the running time of your heater to the minimum.
EU ECOLOGICAL DIRECTIVE 2009/125 / EC - REGULATION 2015/1188
We would like to inform you that according to the EU Ecodesign Directive 2009/125 / EC the Regulation 2015/1188 has been adopted to
establish ecological requirements for local room heaters. This means that from 1st January 2018 infrared heaters with more than 250 watts
have to be installed with certain regulations/thermostats in order to comply with the legal requirements.
To sum up the installation and commissioning of fixed infrared heaters is only permitted in conjunction with external room temperature
controllers, which fulfill the following functions: electronic room temperature control with weekday control and remote control and / or
window opening detector and / or adaptive heating control.
Portable heaters are only suitable for well-insulated rooms or for occasional use (regulation with plug thermostat).

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1.
The heating element must not be installed directly below a wall socket.
2.
The installation of an infrared heating element in special rooms (rooms with shower, bathtub or swimming pool) as well as in public
places may only be done by a specialised installation company taking into account the appropriate standards and norms of the
country concerned.
3.
The infrared heating element may only be connected to alternating current 230 Volt, 50 Hz.
4.
The infrared heating element must not be exposed to excessive moisture.
5.
Do not put down objects on the infrared heating element and do not cover the infrared heating element!
Attention: risk of overheating! (thermotransfer printing!)
Use magnets, chalk, chalk pencils and whiteboard markers (not waterproof) only when the heating is cold.
6.
The infrared heating element is equipped with a safety temperature limiting device, which turns off in case of overheating and
automatically turns on again after cooling down.
7.
The plug needs to be switchable without tension at all times during operation by switch or thermostat.
8.
The heating elements without switch (except for the models with frames) fulfil the safety requirements for IP 65
(water stream protected). For the application in the safety class IP 65, the mains connection has to be modified respectively
by an installation specialist (taking into account the appropriate standards and norms of the country concerned).
Fixed connection by IP 65 socket or combination plug/socket in IP 65 version.
9.
The minimum distance to other objects should be 50 cm away from the front, 20 cm to the sides and 10 cm upward and downward.
10.
In order to ensure a proper and professional installation, the installation instructions (see next page) or the enclosed
instructions for ceiling mounting must be strictly observed!
11.
In case of possible disassembly or transport allow the infrared-heating element to cool down completely.
12.
Children under 3 must be kept away from the device unless they are continuously monitored. Children aged between 3 and 8 may
only switch the device on and off (using the switch or thermostatic controller) if they are supervised or have been instructed on how
to use the device safely and have understood the hazards resulting from this, with the prerequisite that the device is placed or
installed in its normal usage position. Children aged between 3 and 8 must not plug the device into the mains, regulate the device,
clean the device and/or carry out user maintenance. WARNING: Certain parts of the product can become very hot and cause burns.
Particular care must be taken if children or people in need of protection are present.
