7. Menus
It opens a window showing the current reading (not the offset connected value) and
the current physical unit as well as an input window in which the reference value is
entered. The current reading may be different to the display reading because the
software shows the real value not corrected. The software calculates the offset
(difference between reference value and current value) and activates this on to testo
6740 after Transmitter Config. - Apply has been clicked on.
- Presets
Three definitions can be set up in this window:
1. Menu time:
To protect from unauthorised operation, the SET button must be pressed for a
time x if you wish to go from the measurement mode to the operation menu. This
time x can be selected here (1, 3, 5 or 10 seconds)
2. Display
In some applications, the display value should not be continually displayed, but only
when authorised persons want to read it. For this case, it is possible in this
window to select ON in Display (the display can be switched on or off
using the arrow buttons) or OFF (the display is always on and cannot be switched
off)
3. Unit
Generally, it is advantageous for the reading and the current measurement unit to
appear alternately (6 second long display of reading, 2 second long display of unit).
However, if it is required that the reading be shown non-stop, select OFF in this
window under Unit. If ON is selected, the value and unit are displayed alternately.
- User code
"0000" is entered as the default user code (password). This value can be changed
here so that only authorised persons have access to the operation menu.
The value "0000" deactivates the user code, i.e. it is not necessary to enter a code in
the 6740 to open the instrument menu. You can then go directly from the CODE
Menu to the UNIT menu by pressing the arrow button.
Click on Transmitter-Config. and Apply, to activate the values that have been
transmitted to testo 6740.
