14. TROUBLESHOOTING

Attention!
Switch off the power tool and disconnect it from the mains before troubleshooting.
The following table shows possible malfunctions and corrective actions to be taken if your power tool
does not work properly. If this does not help you to find the problem and remove the malfunction,
please contact your service workshop.
Cause
Chainsaw does not work
Chainsaw works irregularly
Saw chain is dry
Chain/guide rail overheated
Chainsaw does not run smoothly,
vibrates or does not cut properly
Only for EU countries
Do not dispose of power tools in the
household waste!
As per the European Directive
2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment and its
implementation in national law,
used power tools must be collected
separately and recycled in an
environmentally correct way.
Malfunction
- No power supply
- Defective socket
- Extension cord damaged
- Defective fuse
- Power cord damaged
- Loose external connection
- Loose internal connection
- Defective on/off switch
- No oil in the tank
- Clogged filler cap ventilation
- Clogged oil outlet
- No oil in the tank
- Clogged filler cap ventilation
- Clogged oil outlet
- Blunt chain
- Chain not adequately tensioned
- Chain not sharp enough
- Chain worn out
- Saw teeth point in the wrong
direction
Recycling as an alternative for the request to
return the power tool:
Instead of returning the power tool, the owner
of the power tool is obliged to properly recycle
the tool if it is not used anymore. To this end,
the waste tool can also be taken to a collection
point where it is recycled in compliance with
the national recycling management and waste
regulations. This does not apply for auxiliary
materials and parts which do not include
electrical components.
Remedy
- Check power supply
- Try another power source;
replace socket, if necessary
- Check cord and replace it, if
necessary
- Replace fuse
- Contact your service workshop
- Replenish oil
- Clean filer cap
- Remove dirt from oil outlet
- Replenish oil
- Clean filer cap
- Remove dirt from oil outlet
- Sharpen or replace chain
- Adjust chain tension
- Sharpen or replace chain
