- Log wood must be secured.
- If working on inclined surfaces, always stand
facing the incline.
- For cutting to length, the spiked bumper must
be located at the wood which is to be cut (see
B13).
- Firmly locate the spiked bumper at the wood
before cutting the wood with the running saw
chain. To this end, you must lift the chainsaw
at the rear handle and guide it with the front
handle. The spiked bumper serves as the centre
of rotation. Continue the cutting process with
some pressure applied to the front handle,
slightly pulling back the saw at the same time.
Locate the spiked bumper at a lower position and
lift the rear handle again (see B14).
- Pull out the saw from the wood only with saw
chain running.
- If several cuts are made, electric chainsaws must
be disconnected from the mains after each cut.
- Only specially-trained persons are allowed to
make jab cuts and longitudinal cuts (increased
risk of kickbacks, see B15).
- Position the chainsaw for longitudinal cuts with
an angle that is as low as possible. You must be
very careful as the spiked bumper cannot be
used for this kind of cutting.
- When cutting with the upper side of the chain
guide, the chainsaw may be thrown towards the
operator if the saw chain jams. Therefore, it is
highly recommendable to cut with the lower side
of the chain guide as the chainsaw will otherwise
be thrown towards the wood and away from the
body in case of jamming (see B16 and 17).
- Be careful when cutting splintered wood. Cut
pieces of wood may be carried away (risk of
injury!).

- Do not use the chainsaw for lifting or shovelling
when removing pieces of wood or other material.
- If possible, support the chainsaw at the tree
trunk for debranching. Do not cut with the bar tip
(risk of kickback, see B15).
- Only trained persons are allowed to debranch
trees! Risk of injury!
- Be aware of branches which are under tension.
Do not cut suspended branches from below.
- Do not debranch trees while standing on the
tree trunk.
- Do not use the electric chainsaw for forest
work, i.e. for felling and debranching trees in the
forest. Due to the connected cable, the operator
cannot move freely and thus safety cannot be
guaranteed!
- When felling trees, always stand to the side of to
the falling tree.
- When moving back after felling, be aware of
falling branches.
- When working on inclined surfaces, the
operator must stand above or to the side of the
tree trunk which is to be worked on or the felled
tree.
- Be aware of tree trunks rolling towards you. Risk
of kickback!
- The chainsaw may kick back if the saw bar tip
(in particular the upper quarter of the saw bar
tip) unintentionally touches wood or other solid
objects. The electric chainsaw will be thrown
towards the operator in an uncontrolled manner
and with high energy. (Risk of injury!)
