For low temperatures, oil with a low viscosity
is required to produce an adequate lubricating
film. If you use the same oil in summer time, it
will further liquefy due to the higher ambient
temperatures, thereby making it difficult to
sustain the lubrication film. The chain will
overheat and be damaged. Furthermore, the oil
will burn, causing unnecessary pollution.
Filling the oil tank
- Put down the chainsaw on a level surface. (B7)
- Clean the area around the filler cap (item 12)
and open the cap.
- Fill the oil tank with saw chain oil. Make sure
that no dirt gets into the oil tank in order to avoid
clogging the oil nozzle.
- Close the filler cap (item 12).

7. OPERATION

7.1 Adjusting the length of the telescopic pole
Always disconnect the power tool from the
mains before inspection and adjustment
work.
- Open the telescopic quick acting lock (item 6)
and pull the handle away from the housing. (B8)
- Assemble and adjust the cutting length as
required. (B9)
- If the cutter head is directly connected to the
handle, you can use the power tool as a chainsaw.
- If the cutter head is connected with the single
pole, it is suited for cutting at a height of 2-3m.
- If the cutter head is connected with the double
pole, it is suited for cutting at a height of 3-4m.
7.2 Adjusting the angle of the cutter head
- Press the adjustment button (item 17) and
adjust the cutting angle as required. (B10)

8. SWITCHING ON/OFF

Switching on (B11)
- Use both hands to hold the chainsaw at its
handles (thumb below the handle).
- Press the switch lock (item 4) and keep it
pressed.
- Switch on the chainsaw with the on/off switch
(item 3). Now you can release the switch lock
(item 4).
Switching off (B11)
- Release the on/off switch (item 3). Always
disconnect the power tool from the mains when
interrupting your work.
How to secure the extension cord (B12)
Only use extension cords approved for outdoor
areas. The cross-section of the cord must be at
least 1.5mm2 for a cord length of up to 75m.
First connect the plug of the chainsaw with the
connecting cable. Then form a loop with the
connecting cable and push it through the cable
guidance at the housing of the chainsaw. Place
the loop over the strain relief clamp as shown on
illustration B12.
Extension cords with a length of more than 30m
reduce the performance of the chainsaw.
9. PROCEDURE FOR BASIC OPERATIONS
SUCH AS FELLING, DEBRANCHING AND
SAWING (CUTTING TO LENGTH)
- When working outside, only use extension cords
approved for such work and labelled accordingly.
- Use an appropriate support when cutting
trimmed timber and thin wood (sawbuck, B14).
Do not pile the wood. Do not hold it with your
foot and do not have another person hold it.
