OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION
Do not use the appliance for defrosting or cooking of frozen foods. All foods must be completely defrosted
before processing by this appliance.
Before first use
Clean the appliance using dry cotton cloth prior to first use. Wash thoroughly the plates, drip trays and
the cleaning spatula. We do not recommend washing in the dishwasher! The salts are very aggressive and
eventually damage would occur.
Carefully dry the plates before reinstalling them into the appliance.
Do not forget to return the drip tray in its place.
Note: When you use your appliance the first time, you may smell an odour coming from the plates. This is
normal and the odour will gradually disappear. For this reason, we recommend that you „burn" the grill
prior to first use for at least 30 minutes without food.
Food preparation
1.
You will open the appliance by grasping the handle and lifting it.
2.
You can coat the plates with butter, margarine or lard. Since the plates of the appliance have non-stick
surface, using butter or oil is not necessary.
3.
Close the plates and turn the appliance on by plugging the power cord in a standard electrical outlet.
Check that the power indicator light turns blue.
Warning: The plates and the metal surfaces of the appliance become very hot when in operation. To
prevent burn injuries, wear heat-resistant mitts and touch the black part of the handle only.
4.
Using the handle, lift the upper plate of the appliance. Use wooden or heat-resistant plastic kitchen
utensils to place the foods on the bottom plate.
Attention: Do not use metal utensils, which could scratch and damage the non-stick surface of the plates.
5.
Use the handle to cover the food with the upper plate.
Notes:
The preparation time of various foods depends on the type and thickness of the foods.
The foods should be thoroughly cooked before eating.
6.
When the food is cooked as desired, open the plates by lifting the handle and using kitchen utensils
remove the food. If you continue in preparation of more dishes, close the plates to prevent heat loss.
7.
Repeat the steps 4–6 until you prepare all the dishes. Grease the plates if necessary.
8.
Turn off the appliance by unplugging the power cord from the outlet.
9.
When the appliance cools down thoroughly, press the lock buttons of the plates, remove the plates, wash
and dry them thoroughly, before placing them back.
