5. Commissioning
5.1 Checklist before driving
Before every ride the MODSTER R1 should be tested to be safe to drive.
As there may be defects due to the transport, as well as by possible service periods, which could possibly impair the functions of the vehicle,
please pay attention to the following points before the first commissioning - as well as before each journey:
1.
BRAKE: Check the proper functioning of the brake. In particular, you must know if you are starting with or without an electronic assistan-
ce brake (engine brake), since this is an enormous difference in the braking force (see chapter „Warning").
2.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Before each ride, check the R1 to make sure that all the screws are safely tightened and that no components
are loose.
3.
TIRES: Make sure the tires are in good condition and you can not detect cracks or other damage.
4.
FOLDING MECHANISM: Be sure that the folding mechanism is correctly clicked.
5.
CHARGING THE BATTERY: Check the charge level of the battery using the display near the front wheel.
5.2 Recommended steps for beginners
1.
Turn on the scooter.
2.
Fold the kickstand with your foot.
3.
Take the steering handles firmly in your hands.
4.
Place one foot on the accelerator pedal and step off the ground with the other foot while gently accelerating. The e-scooter will drive
forward.
5.
Pull in the second foot and place it comfortably on the footboard. Stand up straight and balance on the scooter while driving.
6.
Slowly accelerate by gently applying more pressure to the pedal. The stronger the pressure, the faster the e-scooter drives. Let go again
to slow down.
7.
If you want to slow down quickly, use the footbrake on the left control handle until you reach the desired speed or standstill. As a begin-
ner, practice starting, accelerating, braking, stopping.
8.
If you press the footbrake hard enough, this will prevent acceleration. While using the engine brake, part of the kinetic energy is recover-
ed and fed into the battery.
5.3 Using process of the e-Scooter
Step 2: Fold the kickstand.

Step 1: Press the power button.
Step 3: Hold the handlebar with both hands. Press the accelerator pe-
dal with your foot to start driving. Press harder to accelerate and relea-
se to slow down.
