Versions with type approval and metrological CE approval and verification
These versions of the CONTOIL® measuring system bear the number of the type test
certificate in accordance with Directive 2014/32/EU (MID) and the metrological CE mark. This
means they can be used for direct consumption measurement in charging transactions which
require verification.
The measurement result can be transferred to external meters by means of optional pulse
transmitters or pulse output. The measurement result transferred is not valid in line with
directive 2014/32/EU and cannot be used as a legally calibrated display therefore. The local
display for the oil flow meter is always valid for legally verified transactions.

Area of use
CONTOIL® measuring system with type approval and metrological CE mark must be used
exclusively where the fluid measured (heating oil, diesel) is used directly by the load (e.g.
burner in heating systems). The transfer point is the output site of the flow meter. Other uses
must be checked and verified on-site by the local calibration office.
In consideration of and compliance with the applicable norms for charging transactions, the
CONTOIL® measuring system can also be part of a measurement system in accordance with
appendix MI-005 of directive 2014/32/EU.
Important: Please comply with the installation notes in the fitting instructions for the flow
meter.
The fitting instructions contain, among others, the following points which must be complied
with:
Before installing the meter, the line must be flushed to remove any chippings, dirt or
contamination.
The liquid (heating oil, diesel, oil, etc.) must be free of air bubbles. If necessary, fit an
air separator and/or a non-return valve.
Check installation for leaks and functionality.
