Overview
■
The T-Sinus 154 XR is an access point for wireless networks which can be used equally as a bridge between
wired and wireless local networks or as a repeater in wireless networks.
Carefully follow the security information, system requirements, installation steps and warranty conditions as
described in full in the T-Sinus 154 XR instructions (please see the CD-ROM supplied with the pack).
This Quick Start Guide explains how to connect and configure your T-Sinus 154 XR.
Security aspects
■
The T-Sinus 154 product line offers comprehensive security functions designed to prevent attacks from the
Internet against computers in a local network, attempts at 'listening in' on traffic in a wireless network and the
unwanted use of communications by network users. You will find detailed information about these aspects
in the T-Sinus 154 XR instructions on the CD-ROM supplied.

The operation modes of the T-Sinus 154 XR
■
When used as a Repeater the T-Sinus 154 XR can increase the coverage of your wireless network. Set it up
at the limit of the range of your wireless network. The T-Sinus 154 XR will now transmit data traffic into its own
wireless area. As an Access Point the T-Sinus 154 XR can be used to connect computers to an existing local
Ethernet network (e.g. to the Teledat Router 400). You can also connect a computer to the Internet via a
modem in this mode.
The T-Sinus 154 XR can be connected directly to the Ethernet port of a computer or to a games console. In
this mode it is a wireless network adapter. There is no need to install any additional driver software on the
computer or the games console. When you make a connection from a computer or games console to a
wireless router, you operate the T-Sinus 154 XR in the Ethernet Adapter (Infastruktur) mode. When you make
a wireless connection between two computers or two games consoles, you operate the T-Sinus 154 XR in the
Ethernet Adapter (AdHoc) mode.
You select the mode with the web-based configuration program.
