PREPARING THE APPLIANCE

IMPORTANT! Before using the appliance, open the lid
(3) and ensure that the motor lter ( 22) and the
dust bag have been tted inside the appliance. Also
fi
check that the exhaust lter (23 + 24) have been tted
(see the sections on replacing the lters and dust bag
below).
Attach the hose (21) to the appliance by inserting
the hose connector (19) in the hole on the hose
connector port (2) on the top of the appliance, until
you hear a click.
o
To remove the hose, press the lock buttons (20)
on both sides of the hose connector and pull the

Depress the lock button (18) on the telescopic tube
(13) and pull the tube to the required length.
Attach the handle (11) to one end of the tube and
attach the oor nozzle (15) to the other end of the
tube.
USE
Pull the cord (10) out of the appliance. The cord
must not be pulled out any further than the red
mark. Plug in and switch on the power.
Press the On/Off button (7) to switch the appliance
on and off.
The suction strength can be regulated during use
by using the button for controlling suction strength
(6) situated on top of the appliance. For maximum
suction strength select MAX and for minimum
suction strength select MIN.
Suction strength can also be regulated by opening
and closing the air vent (12) on the handle.
o
When the vent is closed, full suction is achieved.
This is the standard setting.
o
When the vent opens, more air is
allowed in, reducing the suction power
at the floor nozzle. This function is for
cleaning curtains and other light items
which can get sucked into the nozzle.
The oor nozzle brushes have two settings which
fl
can be selected using the brush function button (14)
on top of the nozzle.
o
When cleaning hard surfaces (stone ooring,
tiles, etc.), the nozzle brushes should be
extended.
o
When cleaning carpets and rugs, the brushes
should be retracted into the nozzle.
The bag change indicator (4) will normally be green.
If it changes to red when the vacuum cleaner is in
use, or if suction strength is signi cantly reduced,
the dust bag needs changing (refer to Replacing
fi
lters and dust bag below). If the indicator remains
red after the bag has been replaced, it may be due
to one of the following reasons:
o The hose or nozzle is clogged.
23
.
o The exhaust lter is dirty.
Investigate what is causing the indicator to remain
red and deal with the problem. The appliance must
not be used if the indicator is red. This may cause
irreparable damage to the motor.
.
NOTE! The appliance switches off automatically if
the motor overheats. Switch off the appliance on
the On/Off button, disconnect the plug from the
mains socket and allow the appliance to cool off for
approx. 1 hour. Clean the lters and replace the dust
bag (see the sections on replacement of lters and
dust bag below), before using the appliance again.
