AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE
Removing the Air Filter/Mufler Cover
1. Place the choke lever in position B.
NOTE: The choke lever must be in position B (Fig.
21) to remove the air ilter/mufler cover.
2. Remove the four (4) screws securing the air ilter/
mufler cover (Fig. 21). Use a lat blade or T-20 Torx
bit screwdriver.
3. Pull the cover from the engine. Do not use exces-
sive force.

Cleaning the Air Filter
Clean and re-oil the air ilter every 10 hours of opera-
tion. The air ilter is an important item that requires
regular maintenance. Not maintaining the air ilter will
VOID the warranty.
1. Remove the air ilter/mufler cover. See Removing
the Air Filter/Mufler Cover.
2. Remove the air ilter from behind the air ilter/mufler
cover (Fig. 22),
3. Wash the ilter in detergent and water (Fig. 23).
Rinse the ilter thoroughly. Squeeze out excess wa-
ter. Allow it to dry completely.
4. Apply enough clean oil to lightly coat the ilter (Fig.
24).
5. Squeeze the ilter to spread and remove excess oil
screws
(Fig. 25).
6. Replace the air ilter in the air ilter/mufler cover
(Fig. 22).
NOTE: Operating the unit without the air ilter and
air ilter/mufler cover assembly, will VOID the war-
ranty.
