Quick start guide
Preparing for use
If there is a sticker on the display, remove the
sticker before you install the appliance.
Put the plug in the wall socket and wait.

Different languages appear on the display.

Press the OK button for 3 seconds when the
desired language appears (Fig. 1).
The appliance automatically exits the MENU mode.
The message 'NO WATER! Fill water tank'

appears.
Remove the water tank from the

appliance (Fig. 2).
Do not remove the water tank while the
appliance is operating.
Rinse the water tank and fill it with fresh
5
water. (Fig. 3)
Remove the lid of the water tank to create a bigger
filling opening.
Put the water tank back and push it firmly
6
into place.
The message 'OPEN STEAM KNOB' appears.
Place a cup under the steam pipe.

Turn the steam knob to 'ON' (Fig. 4).

Water comes out of the steam pipe. The message
'CLOSE STEAM KNOB' appears.
At first installation, the appliance fills with water
and hums loudly in the process.
Turn the steam knob to 'OFF'.

The appliance switches off automatically.
Note: It is normal that there are some traces of coffee
and water in the appliance when you use it for the
first time. This is because the appliance has been
tested in the factory to make sure it is in perfect
working order.
Brewing espresso
Fill the coffee bean container with

beans (Fig. 5).
Place a cup under the coffee spout (Fig. 6).

To select a different strength, press the coffee
3
strength/ground coffee button §. Use the
^ and % buttons to select your preferred
coffee strength. Press OK to confirm the
desired coffee strength.
For a short coffee, press the ® button. For
4
a standard coffee, press the ßbutton. For a
large coffee, press the © button.
Press the desired coffee button twice for two
5
cups.

Frothing milk

Fill a mug or cup with fresh skimmed milk.

Set the steam knob to 'ON' (Fig. 4).

The message 'STEAM!' appears on the display and
hot water comes out of the steam pipe. This takes
approx. 20 seconds.
Let this water run into the drip tray. Do not insert
the steam pipe in the milk yet, otherwise the water
ends up in the milk and affects the taste of the milk.
Wait until no water but only steam comes

out of the steam pipe. Then insert the steam
pipe into the mug or cup (Fig. 7).
Place the steam pipe approx. 2cm below the

milk surface.
Set the steam knob to 'OFF' when you feel
5
that the milk becomes hot. (Fig. 8)
The milk froth is of good quality when there are no
big bubbles in it.
Cleaning
When the message 'EMPTY WASTE BIN'

appears on the display, you have to empty the
waste bin.
Open the service door, take out the waste
2
bin and empty it. Next, empty and clean
the drip tray and clean the inside of the
appliance (Fig. 9).
Switch off the appliance before you open
the service door.
