1) The amount of air increases when the temperature rises from 50 °C to 300 °C. The speed of the fan is identical at both power settings.
2) At an ambient temperature of approx. 20 °C.
The values given are valid for a nominal voltage [U] of 230 V. For different voltages and models for specific countries, these values can vary.

Noise/Vibration Information

Typically the A-weighted sound pressure level of the product
is lower than 70 dB(A).

Operation

Starting Operation

 Observe the mains voltage! The voltage of the power
source must correspond with the data on the type plate of
the machine.
Creation of smoke during initial use
A coating protects the metal surfaces from corrosion ex-
works. This protective layer evaporates during initial use.
Switching On
Slide the on/off switch 2 upwards.
To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it.
Switching Off
Slide the on/off switch 2 downwards into the 0 position.
 UniversalHeat 600: After working at high tempera-
tures for a prolonged period, let the power tool cool
down by briefly running it at the 50 °C power setting
before switching it off.
Selecting a power setting
You can choose between different power settings using the
on/off switch 2:

 When changing from 50 °C to 300 °C, the speed and
therefore the operating sound of the gun do not change.
The 50 °C power setting is suitable for cooling down a heated
workpiece or for drying paint. It is also suitable for cooling
down the power tool before putting it down or changing the
attachment nozzles.

Working Advice

 Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
Note: Do not apply the nozzle 3 too close to the workpiece be-
ing worked. The hot air build-up can lead to overheating of the
power tool.
Removing the Heat Protection (UniversalHeat 600)
The heat protection collar 4 can be removed when working at
particularly hard-to-reach locations.
 Be careful of the hot nozzle! Increased danger of burning
To remove or mount the heat protection collar 4, switch the
power tool off and allow it to cool down.
To speed up the cooling, the power tool can also be operated
for a short period with the lowest adjustable temperature.
Placing Down the Power Tool (see figures D and F)
To cool down the power tool or have both hands free, place it
down on the standing surface 1.
 Be especially careful when working with the placed

The optimum temperature for each application can be deter-
mined by a practical test.
Always test the amount of air and temperature first. Start at a
greater distance and a lower power setting. Then adjust the
distance and power setting according to requirements.
If you are unsure what material you are working on or what
effect the hot air gun might have on it, first test the effect on a
concealed area.

the hot nozzle or on the hot air jet.
