Site of installation
The following factors have to be taken into consideration when selecting the site
of installation:
– Height of installation
– Distance from the source of light to be switched
– Objects, such as partitions, tall plants, etc.
If possible, the Presence Watchdog should be installed directly above the
workplace. The recommended height of installation is 2.5 m. If the height of
installation is greater than 2.5 m, the detection range is extended while the
detection density and the sensitivity are reduced.
If the lamps that are used generate a lot of heat, the distance from these lamps
should be at least 1.5 m. Tall objects, such as partitions in open plan offices, can
reduce the detection range so that it may be necessary to install an additional
Presence Watchdog. It may also be necessary to use several Presence
Watchdogs in big rooms. The detection ranges should overlap by approx. 0.5 m.
