5 Putting into operation
5.3 AUT cutting torches
5.4 Setting up the torch body
EN - 10
In these models, the cutting torch nozzles are positioned in a straight line,
relative to the torch body axis.
The plasma nozzle, protective cap, electrode and insulator are all wear parts
that can be replaced by inserting or screwing on spare parts.
Accessories
• Mount for the automatic cutting torch
WARNING
Risk of injury
Dangerous voltage due to plasma power source
• All manual plasma cutting torches are equipped with a torch-specific
retaining clamp for protection of the operator.
To disconnect the wear parts, the clamp must be removed, automatically
interrupting the inrush current circuit. Irrespective of this safety circuit, the
plasma power source must still be switched off whenever wear parts are
replaced!
CAUTION
Risk of injury
Physical injury due to damage to components.
• Soiled nozzle bores reduce air throughput and cooling. This increases
the wear to all equipment parts, ultimately destroying the torch body.
Always ensure that the protective cap and all wear parts are clean and
securely attached.
1 Screw in the electrode and tighten it using a switch key wrench.
2 Screw in the selected plasma nozzle and tighten it using a switch key
wrench.
The type of plasma nozzle used is primarily determined by the material to
be cut and the current intensity.
The following standard values apply:
 Tab. 5 on page EN-7
Depending on the torch version, further wear parts must be used.
Observe their correct sequence as shown in the following figures and the
current product catalogue.
3 Hand-tighten the protective cap.
4 Attach the retaining clamp.
