1. Technical Data
Type of current: - (A.C. single phase)
Double insulation according to IEC 745, HD 400,
CEE-publication No. 20E1
Radio suppressed according to CISPR publication No. 14
In other countries, note the equivalent national regulations
(e.g. DIN VDE 0740 and DIN VDE 0875).
2. Setting to work
Please pay attention to the enclosed safety instructions
3 41 30 054 06 1!
Main voltage must correspond to the Operation voltage marked
on the rating plate.
Switch in "Off" position.
To prevent the overbridging of the protecting insulation, no
additional marking plates and signs must be riveted or
screwed on the housing.
We recommend the use of transfers only.
The machine is provided with a revsersing switch (40) for
clockwise and anticlockwise rotation.
lt must not be operated when the machine is running.
The speed (respectively the max. torque) can be changed
infinitely variable by pressing more or less deeply on the switch
(220).
The highest speed is set by means of the lateral locking button.

Adjustment of the Torque:
The machine is provided wit a positive clutch. The torque is
adjusted by changing the position of the clutch claws; the deeper
the gripping of the claws, the higher the torque.
In order to adjust the claws, turn the screw (470) after having
screwed off the bearing sleeve (490) and having loosed the
threaded pin (480). When turning the screw (470) to the right into
the following notch the gripping will be increased by 0,16 mm.
At works, the clutch has been adjusted to an overlaying of the
claws of approx. 0,75 mm.
The bearing sleeve must be tightened firmly (M = 10...12 Nm).
Moreover, the torque is dependent on the pressure of the driver
against the screw.
In order to change the blades remove depth stop by turning it
slightly. Change the blade and remove plaster dust. Push depth
stop on the machine up to striking. Thereby there is no change in
the adjustment of the screwing.
The depth stop must also be removed for unscrewing.
3. Maintenance and Lubrication
Before carrying out any maintenance work always remember
to pull out the plug.
Every 300 duty hours blow or brush out the tool with special
attention to carbon holders and insulated parts. After checkirg
the carbon brushes make sure to refit them in their original
position and check that they move easily in their holder. They
should be replaced at the latest when they have worn down to
7 mm. Please, only use original FEIN carbon brushes.
After fitting new brushes, run tool unloaded for about 15 minutes
to allow brushes to bed in.
Check cable (160) at regular intervals.
Please, be sure that electric parts are only cleaned dry.
We recommend to renew the gear grease after 300 duty hours.
Please, only use the FEIN special grease 0 40 101 0100 4.
Quantity of grease: 10 g. Order Reference for the tube of 85 g:
3 21 60 003 01 4.
Attention: Regrease the cams and the slide faces.
After approx. 900 duty hours, the machine should be thoroughly
cleaned. Rinse ball bearings and gears in clean solvent and pack
with fresh grease 040 101 01004.
Dismantle following the instructions of paragraph 4 and clean
component parts.
The space between inner and outer rings is to be one third filled
with grease in order to prevent that the bearings overheat.
No claims can be entertained for damage due to negligent main-
tenance and inadequate lubrication.
4. Dismantling
The tool should only be taken apart and reassembled by an
electrical expert!
4.1 Pull plug out of socket.
4.2 Unscrew screw (230), pull off switch trigger (220).
4.3 Unscrew screw (250) and fillister head screw (240), then
take off handle cover (200).
4.4 Remove supply cable (160) from switch (20) and reversing
switch (40), then draw out the switches (20,40). Disconnect
motor cable.
4.5 After unscrewing the screws (100) draw out carbon holder
(50) and capacitor (30). Distribution of connections see
connecting plan.
4.6 Loosen fillister head screws (540,550), remove outer
bearing (350) with intermediate bearing (340) and take
apart.
4.7 Pull out armature (301), unscrew three screws (310) and
remove armature drive (300).
