the line-outputs of the headunit or of a pre-amplifier i.g.
HXE 100. This connectors are gold-plated to ensure a
better signal transmission.
10 - 13 Level controls for input sensitivity
These controls can be used to match the input sensitivi-
ty of the individual channels - A to D - to the output vol-
tage of the connected head unit. These controls are not
volume controls and are solely intended for the purpose
of sensitivity trimming. The control range extends from
500 mV to 8 V.
14 - 16 CPS - Color Protection System
This LEDs show the operation mode of the amplifier
green (14) = in operation; yellow (15) = malfunction of
the amplifier, short circuit at loudspeaker output; red
(16) = overheating.
If the amplifier shuts off due to overheating it can take
a while until it turns on again. This depends on the out-
side temperature.
17 Switch for HP/ Linear/ LP of channel A and B
To switch over the internal active crossover to
Highpass/Full range (linear) or Lowpass of channel A
and B
18 Switch for HP/ Linear/ LP of channel C and D
To switch over the internal active crossover to
Highpass/Full range (linear) or Lowpass of channel C
and D
19 - 20 Stereo/Bridged/Mono switch
To set the operation mode of the amplifier.
4 channel mode: If the amplifier operates in 4-channel
mode, the switches have to be set on stereo position (as
is is ex works) and in each case both channels (6/7 for
the channels A/B and 8 /9 for the channels C/D) must be
used.
3- or 2-channel mode with stereo signal: If the ampli-
fier is operated in 3- or 2-channel mode with one stereo
signal for the bridged channels, set the switch of the
channels to be bridged (A/B or C/D) to BRIDGED-
STEREO IN. In this mode both bridged channels are
connected to one channel (mono).
On position „BRIDGED-STERO IN" both inputs
(6/7 for A and B or 8/9 for C and D) must be used.
3- or 2-channel mode with mono signal: If the ampli-
fier is operated in 3- or 2-channel mode with a mono
signal for the bridged channels, set the switch of the
channels to be bridged (A/B or C/D) to BRIDGED-
MONO IN. In this mode both bridged channels
are connected to one channel (mono). On position
„BRIDGED-MONO IN" only input A (6) for chan-
nels A/B and input C (8) for channels C/D must be
used.
21 - 22 Control for frequency range
To adjust the crossover frequency of the stereo channels
A and B (21) and C and D (22).

25 Cooling fan On/Off control and adjustment of
cooling fan start temperature
To switch the cooling fan „ON" or „OFF". In case the
cooling fan is not used, set the switch to „FAN OFF". In
this position the cooling fan is not in operation.
In case the cooling fan is used, the operation tempera-
ture can be chosen with this control. The temperature
range starts at 40°C and ends at 70°C.
26 Control for temperature adjustment of maximum
cooling fan speed
To adjust the cooling fan speed (maximum power) to a
defined temperature from 50° C to 80° C.
Example: On control position 50°C the cooling fan
would operate at maximum power at this temperature.
27 Connection of the integrated cooling fan
Plug connection protected against wrong polarity to
connect the integrated cooling fan. In case an external
cooling fan is connected (terminal 28) this plug has to
be disconnected and insulated to avoid damage inside
the amplifier.
28 Connection of an external cooling fan
In case an external cooling fan is connected please
check correct polarity and make sure that 500 mA are
not exeeded.
Hz
Important notice for the operation and installation
of B2 and B4 Precision amplifiers:
In case thr amplifier shuts off due to overheating, the
integrated cooling fan cuts in until a temperature is
reached that allows the amplifier to work properly
again.
Also due to the integrated safety electronics the ampli-
fier turns on with a delay of 3-4 seconds caused by the
Hz
internal check up of all relevant voltages that ensure
perfect operation.
This amplifier has several electronic protection circu-
its that shut off the amplifier at overheating, overloa-
ding, short-circuit on loudspeaker, low-ohmic mode or
defective power supply.
It is indicated through different LEDs, see CPS system
No. 10-12 (B2) and No. 14-16 (B4).
Please check for connecting failures such as short-cir-
cuits, wrong connections and over-temperature.
If the amplifier does not turn on it is defect and has to
be sent to your local authorized dealer for repair servi-
ce. A detailed description of the malfunction and the
purchase receipt has to be attached.
Never connect the loudspeaker cables with the car
chassis ground. It damages your amplifier. Ensure
that the loudspeaker systems are correctly connected
(phase), i.e. plus to plus and minus to minus. The plus
pole is indicated on most speakers.
Ex works the B2 is adjusted in 2-channel mode and
the B4 in 4-channel mode.
