The Peugeot Saveurs legacy began in 1840 when
the brand produced its first coffee mill. In 1855, su-
perb cast-iron mills started becoming a regular
fixture on grocery store counters for grinding large
quantities of seed, sugar, coffee and flour. The first
pepper mills appeared in 1874.
Paying tribute to this exceptional legacy and ever
determined to provide innovative, modern-day pro-
ducts, Peugeot has designed this flax seed mill.
Isen has been specially created to grind flax
seeds.
Every detail has been carefully designed, such as
the measuring spoon and the delicately-opening
hopper, just like the coffee mills used by our grand-
mothers. The materials have been chosen with the
utmost care: the beech comes from the forests of
the Franche-Comté region, while the metal symbo-
lises Peugeot's long-standing expertise.
The innovative handle-driven mechanism in the
centre of the mill can easily be removed for clea-
ning and has been specifically engineered to suit
the consistency and hardness of flax seeds.

Origins & History
What is flax?
Flax is a native plant to Eurasia and is nowa-
days cultivated in temperate and tropical cli-
mates. Flax is popular for its fibres, which are used
to produce linen, and its oil-producing seeds and
their numerous health benefits. The people of An-
cient Egypt were widely familiar with its nutritional
values. Flax seeds are still used today in Chinese
and Ayurvedic medicine.
Flax seeds: health advantages
Flax seeds owe its reputation to three active
ingredients:
- Soluble fibres, which are reported to lower the
amount of «bad» cholesterol and improve diges-
tive health.
- Lignans (phytoestrogens), which could help
prevent certain types of hormone-related cancer,
especially breast and bowel cancer.
- Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is part of the
family of essential fatty acids (Omega 3), whose
benefits for the heart and cardiovascular system
are recognised.
Flaxseed also has dietary qualities, since it pro-
vides healthy fats while burning bad fats. In addi-
tion, it is gluten-free.
