3-Channel PA Amplifier
These operating instructions are intended for
users with basic knowledge in audio technol-
ogy . Please read the instructions carefully prior
to operation and keep them for later reference .
All operating elements and connections
described can be found on the fold-out page 3 .
1 Overview
1.1 Front panel
1 Volume control LEFT for the left channel
2 Volume control RIGHT for the right channel
3 Volume control SUB for the mono sub-
woofer channel
4 Status LEDs for the channels LEFT, RIGHT
and SUB:
PROTECT lights up with activated protec-
tive circuit (disconnection of the speakers):
1 . after switching-on for a short time
2 . in case of overload / overheating
3 . in case of DC voltage at the output
LIMITER lights up when the input signal is
too high and limited by the limiter
SIGNAL lights up when a signal is present
at the respective input and the correspond-
ing volume control is turned up
5 POWER switch

7 Balanced inputs: (XLR jacks) for the left
channel (L-CH) and the right channel (R-CH)
8 Switch GROUNDLIFT to separate the signal
ground and the housing ground:
switch engaged:
signal ground is connected to housing
ground
switch disengaged:
signal ground and housing ground sepa-
rated (ground lift)
9 XLR feed-through outputs to feed the input
signals to an additional amplifier, for ex-
ample
10 Control CROSSOVER FREQUENCY to adjust
the cut-off frequency (70 – 120 Hz) for the
high pass filter for the channels LEFT and
RIGHT respectively
11 Control CROSSOVER FREQUENCY to ad-
just the cut-off frequency (70 – 120 Hz) for
the low pass filter of the mono subwoofer
channel
12 Speaker output: (Speakon
channels LEFT, RIGHT and SUB respectively;
the second jack SUB is connected in parallel
to the first

2 Safety Notes

The unit corresponds to all relevant directives
of the EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit uses dangerous mains
The unit is suitable for indoor use only . Pro-
tect it against dripping water and splash
water, high air humidity and heat (admis-
sible ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C) .
Do not place any vessels filled with liquid,
e . g . drinking glasses, on the unit .
The heat generated inside the unit must be
dissipated by air circulation; never cover the
air vents of the housing .
Do not operate the unit or immediately dis-
connect the mains plug from the socket
1 . if the unit or the mains cable is visibly
damaged,
2 . if a defect might have occurred after the
unit was dropped or suffered a similar
accident,
3 . if malfunctions occur .
In any case, the units must be repaired by
skilled personnel .
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the mains socket, always
seize the plug .
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never
use chemicals or water .
No guarantee claims for the unit and no li-
ability for any resulting personal damage or
material damage will be accepted if the unit
is used for other purposes than originally
intended, if it is not correctly connected or
operated or if it is not repaired in an expert
way .
If the unit is to be put out of oper-
ation definitively, take it to a local
recycling plant for a disposal which
is not harmful to the environment .
3 Applications
This PA amplifier is specially designed for
applications on stage and in clubs . With its
three amplifier channels and the integrated
frequency filters, it is ideally suited for stereo
operation with a mono subwoofer to support
the reproduction of very low frequencies (e . g .
®
jack) for the
with the speakers CLUB-1TOP and CLUB-1SUB) .
The cut-off frequency of the high pass filters
for both stereo channels and the low pass filter
for the subwoofer channel can be adapted to
the frequency ranges of the speakers used .
Extensive protective circuits protect the
amplifier and the speakers connected . Two
powerful, temperature-controlled fans ensure
the necessary cooling of the amplifier .
.
voltage . Leave servicing to
skilled personnel only and do
not insert anything into the air
vents . Inexpert handling may
result in electric shock .
4 Setting up
The amplifier is provided for installation into a
rack (482 mm /19"), but it may also be used as
a tabletop unit . In any case air must be allowed
to flow freely through all ventilation slots so
that sufficient cooling is ensured .
4.1 Rack installation
For installation into a rack, 3 RS (rack spaces)
= 133 mm are required . The hot air blown out
at the rear of the amplifier must be able to
dissipate from the rack; otherwise, heat will
accumulate in the rack which may not only
damage the amplifier but also other units in
the rack . In case of insufficient heat dissipation,
install a ventilation unit (e . g . DPVEN-04) into
the rack .
To prevent the rack from becoming top-
heavy, insert the amplifier into the lower sec-
tion of the rack . The front plate alone is not
sufficient for fixing it safely; additionally use
lateral rails or a bottom plate to secure the unit .

5 Connecting the Amplifier

Always switch off the amplifier before making
or changing any connections
5.1 Signal sources
Connect the output of a preamplifier or a mixer
to the XLR jacks INPUT (7) . The jacks are de-
signed for balanced signals; the contact config-
uration is shown in fig . 2 . To connect sources
with unbalanced signals, use an adapter with
the XLR contacts 1 and 3 bridged (e . g . the
adapter MCA-15 / 2: 2-pole 6 .3 mm inline jack
to XLR plug) .
The input signal should have line level .
For maximum undistorted level control of the
amplifier, an input signal of 1 V as a minimum
is required .
Via the feed-through outputs (9) which are
directly connected to the respective input jack
(7), the signal can be fed to to an additional
amplifier, for example .
5.2 Speakers
The maximum output power is reached at
the outputs L-CH and R-CH when connect-
ing 4 Ω speakers . It is also possible to connect
8 Ω speakers; however, in this case the output
power will slightly decrease . At the output SUB,
the highest output power is reached with a
2 Ω load (both jacks connected with one 4 Ω
speaker each) . The required power rating (P
of the speakers is listed in the table fig . 3 .
Connect the speakers to the Speakon
jacks (12) (pin configuration of the plug see
fig . 2) . After inserting a Speakon plug into the
jack, turn it clockwise until it engages . To re-
move the plug, pull back the latch on the plug
and turn the plug counter-clockwise .
When connecting the speakers, make sure
that all speakers have the same polarity .
