Assembly of accessories – general
The drawbar can be provided with a foot
step, catwalk and balance spring, or the
like, which adjusts the drawbar to the
height of the coupling.
VBG recommends that hoses and ca-
bles are clamped secure in their existing
holes.

Fitting the catwalk
Fit the protective strips on the fl anges on
the sidemembers, and then fi t the two
halves of the catwalk with the six screws
and spacers. (If the drawbar is too nar-
row it may be necessary to cut off the
excess material on the two halves of the
catwalk.) Drill holes as shown in the fi g-
ure, and screw tight both reinforcements
on the underside of the catwalk with three
screws in each reinforcement.

Fitting of spring retainer and
balance spring
Fit the spring retainer in optional holes (as
per alternative a or b), and fi t the support
plate with the attendant screws. NOTE!
Must not be fi tted on the crossmembers.

Fitting the foot step
Fit the foot step in the holes on the under-
side of the sidemember.
