Inserting batteries

1. Remove the cover on the battery
compartment from the bottom of the
housing in the direction of the arrow.
2. Insert the batteries or storage
batteries. Only 1.5 Volt round cell type
batteries (size LR6-AA) or 1.2 Volt
rechargeable batteries of the same size can be used.
When inserting the batteries, please check that the
polarity ("+" and "–" labelling) matches the markings on
the battery compartment.
3. Slide the cover to close.
After you have installed new batteries, an internal code will
appear for a short time. This code has no importance for you
the operator.
Caution: Only batteries which are marked as suitable can
be recharged. Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable
batteries!

Batteries do not belong in the trash!
• Every user of batteries in the EC is legally obligated to dispo-
se of these batteries at a collection site in his/her community
or at the dealer selling the batteries. The batteries are then
properly disposed of so as not to damage the environment.
• Batteries containing harmful materials are identified by
this symbol and by chemical symbols
(Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead).
