When these allergens perch on the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose or bronchial tubes, they can trigger an allergic
reaction. Thus, it can cause allergic symptoms such as watery eyes or itching -, cough, runny nose, sneezing, skin
reactions and can lead to serious cases of respiratory distress and allergic asthma.
Frequency of application
After a few treatments with the RhinoFit a significant improvement of symptoms may occur. The device can be used
several times per day for every 3 minutes for about 2 weeks if necessary. The effect can be described as fast and long
lasting. By repeated use the sensitivity to allergens will decrease, therefore it is possible that a definitive cure appears. If it
is known when the exposure is expected with certain allergens then the RhinoFit can be used approximately 1 week
before the start of the exposure.
Effectiveness
An allergy means an excessive reaction of the immune system to certain foreign substances which are normally without
any danger for the health. In the course of the allergic reaction the production of histamine is increased. This is a
messenger of the allergic reactions of the body, such as itching, swelling of mucous membranes etc. Through the light-
emitting diodes with a wavelength of 652 nm and a wavelength of 940 nm, the allergic symptoms and allergic nasal
mucous membranes can be effectively reduced or even eliminated. The simultaneous use of red and infrared wavelength
range can lead to particularly good results. During the application the temperature in the nose increases and the blood
flow to the nasal mucosa is significantly increased. RhinoFit is an alternative or addition to drug therapy.
Operation of infrared light-therapy unit RhinoFit
The operation of the RhinoFit is very simple.
•
Below the unit is the battery case. It can be opened easily by simultaneously pressing and pulling a small lever
on the bottom left of the battery cover. In the battery case, a 9 volt battery has to be inserted.

The battery case can be closed easily again by inserting the cover and pressing the lever, which then snaps.
•
On the top of the device a connector cable can be connected with the LEDs with the help of a plug. The LEDs
are integrated in a mounting bracket for the nose.

The LEDs in the form of a nose applicator have to be inserted into the nose. The probes should sit comfortable
and tight so that they can not fall out of the nose.

The blue button on the device must be pressed and the device is switched on. Thereby the unit beeps twice
and the green LED on the right side of the blue button begins to shine. At the ends of the two nose probes a red
light is visible with a specific wavelength of 652 nm. Also active is in each case a further LED which emits an
infrared light with a wave length of 940 nm. This light is not visible for the human eye.

After approx. 3 minutes the device beeps 8 times and then turns off. Now the application is completed.
•
If the device has to be switched off during the 3 minutes, the blue button has to be pressed again.
Battery Replacement
If the battery is low, the LED light starts to blink. In this case the battery has to be exchanged so that the light therapy can
be performed with a good effect.

Therefore the battery cover below the unit has to be opened, in which a small lever is simultaneously pressed
and pulled on the left side of the cover.

In the battery case the old battery has to be taken out and has to be replaced by a new one. It should be noted
that the 9 volt block battery with regard to the + and – pole is installed correctly. The polarity is indicated on the
inside of the case base.

The battery case can be closed easily by inserting the cover and pressing the lever which then snaps.
Cleaning, maintenance and disposal
A special maintenance for this device is not necessary. For cleaning the unit (surface of the housing) a clean damp cloth
can be used. It should not come water into the housing and into the nose applicators. The nose applicators can be
cleaned with a 70% alcohol-soaked cotton pad after the application.
For cleaning it should be dispensed of 100% alcohol solutions and organic solvents.
To increase battery life, it is advisable to remove the battery from the device after the application. Therewith a possible
battery leakage is prevented.
