2 Safety Notes

The unit corresponds to all required directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING
The flashtube (17) uses high voltage. If
the white protective cover on the PCB is
removed, you will risk an electric shock,
even if no operating voltage is applied!
G
The alarm unit must always be installed by skilled
personnel.
G
Protect the unit against extreme temperatures
(admissible ambient temperature range -25 °C to
+55 °C).
G
For cleaning only use a soft cloth, dry or slightly wet;
never use chemicals or aggressive detergents.
G
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the unit is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly installed,
or not repaired in an expert way.
If the unit is to be put out of operation de -
finitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.
Defective rechargeable batteries do not belong in
the household rubbish; always take them to a spe-
cial waste disposal (e. g. return them to your retailer
or take them to a collection container).
3 Applications
This microprocessor-controlled alarm unit combines
an electronic siren and a xenon flashtube. It is used as
an audible and visible alarm device in alarm systems
and is both suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The
alarm unit can be operated with a 12 V rechargeable
battery (not supplied) which ensures that an alarm will
also be triggered when the power supply is interrupted.
Three operating modes are available:
Mode 1:
without rechargeable battery, alarm triggered
with the operating voltage applied (2-wire
operation)
Mode 2:
without rechargeable battery, alarm trig -
gered via alarm inputs
Mode 3:
with rechargeable battery, alarm triggered
via alarm inputs
The unit has a double housing which is weatherproof
and foam-resistant. Two anti-tamper contacts will trig-
ger an alarm if the unit is forcibly removed from its
place of mounting or if the housing is opened.
