6 Blocking Function/LED Indications
The blocking function will prevent undesired alarm trig-
gering in case of initial operation or change of the set-
tings.
A In the operating mode 1 (chapter 5.1), the blocking
function will be activated when the operating volt -
age is applied to the terminals SUPPLY (13) for the
first time. To indicate the function, the LEDs (18) will
flash twice at regular intervals. During this time, the
desired alarm tone can be set (→ chapter 9). The
blocking function will not be deactivated and an
alarm will not be triggered until the operating volt -
age has been removed und applied to the terminals
for the second time. After that the unit will operate
without blocking function, i. e. whenever the oper -
ating voltage is applied, an alarm will be triggered
immediately.
Note: To reactivate the blocking function, shortly
set the alarm unit into operation in mode 2 [jumper
(1) placed]. If mode 1 is selected again after that
[jumper (1) removed], the blocking function will be
reactivated when the operating voltage is applied
for the first time.
B In the operating modes 2 and 3 (chapter 5.2
or 5.3), the blocking function will be activated for a
few seconds after the unit is set into operation and
after each change of the settings. To indicate the
function, the LEDs (18) will flash twice at regular
intervals. When the function is deactivated, a short
audio signal will sound. To indicate that the alarm
unit is ready for operation, the LEDs will flash once
every 4 seconds.
If an alarm is triggered via one of the alarm
inputs S (15) or F (14) while the blocking function is
acti vated, the blocking function will remain acti -
vated as long as the alarm signal is applied to the
input. If it is not applied any more, the function will
be deacti vated again after a few seconds.
6.1 Error messages via the LEDs
The alarm unit will automatically make operational
checks. The following malfunctions will be indicated by
permanent rapid flashing of the LEDs:
– siren damaged
(checked every second with inactive siren)
– in the operating mode 3:
battery discharged or not connected
(checked every 3 hours and 1 minute after the end of
an audible alarm)
– in the operating mode 3:
battery charging voltage at the terminals SUPPLY is
missing
(checked permanently)

7 Adjustment of the Alarm Inputs
7.1 Polarity of the alarm inputs
The jumpers (2) and (3) allow to separately adjust for
the alarm inputs S (15) and F (14) whether they will be
activated when the control voltage is changed from
+12 V to 0 V or when the control voltage is changed
from 0 V to +12 V:
Input

placed
negative polarity:
S

(ground) is applied
negative polarity:
F
3
input activated if 0 V
(ground) is applied
Note: In case of negative polarity, connect the input
via a pull-up resistor to the positive pole of the
operating voltage (see fig. 3).
7.2 Function of the alarm inputs
The jumper (5) allows to adjust the way in which the
alarm inputs S (15) and F (14) are used.
jumper placed
Separate control of siren and flashtube via the two
inputs S and F:
Via input S, an audible alarm will be triggered; via
input F, a visible alarm will be triggered.
jumper removed
Common control of siren and flashtube via input S:
Via input S, both an audible and a visible alarm will
be triggered. Input F can also be used for additional
functions (→ chapters 7.2.1 to 7.2.4).
7.2.1 Additional function 1: second alarm tone
This function is recommended for indicating two differ -
ent alarm situations (e. g. burglary and fire): If input F
is activated, a visible alarm via the flashtube will be
triggered and an alarm tone will sound which differs
from the alarm tone triggered via input S.
The function will be active if none of the other addi-
tional functions 2 – 4 is activated.
7.2.2 Additional function 2: alarm memory
If this function is active, after an alarm has been trig-
gered via input S, the visible alarm will even continue
when no alarm signal is applied to input S any more.
The flashtube will be reset if input F is activated, e. g.
via an output which will deliver a control signal (+12 V
or 0 V, depending on the polarity adjusted for the input)
when the alarm system is disarmed.
The function is adjusted with the jumper (6):
jumper placed
function deactivated
jumper removed function activated
removed
positive polarity:
input activated if
+12 V is applied
positive polarity:
input activated if
+12 V is applied
