19. Maintenance and cleaning

Prior to cleaning the outside of the housing of the MPEG4 digital recorder, turn it off. Also detach the
power pack from the MPEG4 digital recorder. A clean, dry and soft cloth is sufficient to clean the outside
of the MPEG4 digital recorder and the remote control.
Apart from the described battery change and the jumper settings for the desired video format, there are
no serviceable parts inside this product.

20. Disposal

a) General
Please dispose the device when it is no longer in use, according to the current statutory require-
ments.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
The end user is legally obliged (battery regulation) to return used batteries and rechargeable bat-
teries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household rubbish.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing harmful substances are marked with the follow-
ing symbols, which indicate that it is not permitted to dispose of them in the household
waste. The designations for the decisive heavy metals are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury,
Pb = lead.
You can hand in your used batteries/rechargeable batteries at the official collection points of
your community at no cost or everywhere where batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environ-
ment!
