modifications of the product are not permitted. Never dismantle the product.
• The product is only intended for use in dry, indoor locations. No part of the pro-
duct should be allowed to become moist or wet, never take hold of it if your hands
are wet!
Use of the wall plug transformer involves the risk of a potentially fatal electric
shock!
• Do not expose the product to extremes of temperature (<0°C or >+40°C), direct
sunlight, vibration or humidity.
• The product is not a toy. Keep devices that operate on the mains voltage out of
the reach of children! Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• Only use the USB hub with the enclosed wall plug transformer.
• Do not pull the wall plug transformer from the mains socket by pulling on the
cable.
• If the wall plug transformer is damaged, do not touch it; there is danger to life from
electric shock!
Switch off the mains voltage to the mains socket to which the wall plug trans-
former is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the
safety fuse).
You can then unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket. Dispose of
the damaged wall plug transformer in an environment-friendly way, do not use it
any more.
Replace it with a new wall plug transformer with the same specifications.
• The design of the wall plug transformer complies with protection class II. Only use

In which case, power the USB hub via the enclosed wall plug transformer ("Self-Powered-
Mode"), each USB port on the hub will then provide a higher current.
Proceed as follows, to connect:
• Connect the low-voltage plug of the wall plug transformer with the relevant jack on the USB
hub.
• Connect the wall plug transformer to a mains socket. The power LED on the USB hub lights
up.
• Connect the USB hub, via the USB cable, to a free USB2.0 port on your computer (the
computer does not need to be switched off).
• Windows recognizes the new hardware and automatically installs the appropriate drivers
(these exist in Windows; therefore, no data carrier with drivers is enclosed in the delivery).
• Now connect your USB devices to the USB hub.
Handling
The USB hub can also be operated without the enclosed wall plug transformer.
In which case, the hub functions in the so-called "Bus-Powered-Mode". This means
that the current (according to standard 500 mA for USB2.0), supplied from the
computer via the USB, is distributed to the 7 ports.
This is sufficient for e.g. most mice or keyboards, but many other devices may not
work correctly (e.g. external 6.35cm/2.5" hard disks, card readers with
CompactFlash hard disk, USB cameras etc.).
Where you observe that a device connected to the USB hub is not working correctly,
or is not recognized, power the USB hub with the wall plug transformer.
The same applies for the connection of more than 4 USB devices to the USB hub.
If you do not have a USB2.0 interface on your computer (e.g. on the motherboard or
on a USB2.0 expansion card), you can also connect the USB hub to a USB1.1 port.
Devices connected to the USB2.0 hub will only work at the usual, slower, USB1.1
speed!
When connected to a USB3.0 port, the USB hub operates in USB2.0 mode.
• Only use in dry indoor locations. The product must not get damp or wet! There is
a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a
warm one. The condensation that forms might destroy your unit. This might cause
a lethal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature, before connecting it to the power
supply and putting it in to use. This may take several hours.
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an authorised repair
shop.
• Check the product for damage before each use!
If you detect any damage, DO NOT connect the product to the mains supply!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not function or does not function properly (e.g. a burning smell)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor
pinched.
• If the product is not to be used for some time (e.g. during storage), unplug the wall
plug transformer.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during trans-
portation:
- Damp or excess air humidity
- Extreme cold or heat
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations
