1. Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt eignet sich zum Einbau in einen 8,89 cm (3,5") Einschub eines PC-Gehäuses und stellt dort vier
USB 3.0 Anschlüsse zur Verfügung. Die Spannungsversorgung erfolgt über das Netzteil des Computers.
Aus Sicherheits- und Zulassungsgründen (CE) ist das eigenmächtige Umbauen und/oder Verändern des
Produktes nicht gestattet. Eine andere Verwendung als oben beschrieben ist nicht erlaubt und kann zur
Beschädigung des Produkts führen. Darüber hinaus ist dies mit Gefahren, wie z. B. Kurzschluss, Brand,
Stromschlag usw. verbunden. Lesen Sie die Bedienungsanleitung genau durch und bewahren Sie diese für
späteres Nachschlagen auf.

Bei Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachten dieser Bedienungsanleitung verursacht werden,

Personen / Produkt
• Das Produkt ist kein Spielzeug und sollte von Kindern ferngehalten werden!
• Beachten Sie auch die Sicherheitshinweise und Bedienungsanleitungen der übrigen Geräte, die an das
Gerät angeschlossen werden.
• Das Gerät sollte mit Vorsicht behandelt und nicht fallen gelassen werden, da es durch Stöße oder bei einem
Fall aus geringer Höhe bereits Schaden nehmen kann.
• Das Produkt darf keinem starken mechanischen Druck ausgesetzt werden.
• Das Produkt darf keinen extremen Temperaturen, direktem Sonnenlicht, starken Vibrationen oder
Feuchtigkeit ausgesetzt werden.
• Wenn kein sicherer Betrieb mehr möglich ist, nehmen Sie das Gerät außer Betrieb, und schützen Sie es vor
unbeabsichtigter Verwendung. Der sichere Betrieb ist nicht mehr gewährleistet, wenn das Gerät:
- sichtbare Schäden aufweist,
- nicht mehr ordnungsgemäß funktioniert,
- über einen längeren Zeitraum unter ungünstigen Umgebungsbedingungen gelagert wurde oder
- erheblichen Transportbelastungen ausgesetzt wurde.
Sonstiges
• Wartung, Anpassungs- und Reparaturarbeiten dürfen nur von einem Fachmann bzw. einer Fachwerkstatt
durchgeführt werden.
• Sollten Sie noch Fragen haben, die in dieser Bedienungsanleitung nicht beantwortet werden, so wenden
Sie sich bitte an unseren technischen Kundendienst oder andere Fachleute.
4. Einbau
Falls Sie keine Fachkenntnisse für den Einbau besitzen, so lassen Sie den Einbau von
einer FACHKRAFT oder einer entsprechenden Fachwerkstatt durchführen!
Durch unsachgemäßen Einbau werden sowohl das Produkt, als auch Ihr Computer und
alle angeschlossenen Geräte beschädigt.
Vorsicht, Lebensgefahr!
Schalten Sie den Computer, in den das Produkt eingebaut werden soll und alle
angeschlossenen Geräte aus und trennen Sie alle Geräte von der Netzspannung, ziehen
Sie den Netzstecker! Das Ausschalten über den Ein-/Ausschalter genügt nicht!
1. Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers und nehmen Sie den Gehäusedeckel vorsichtig ab.
2. Suchen Sie einen freien 3,5"-Einbauschacht und entfernen Sie die zugehörige Frontblende. Dahinter liegt
möglicherweise eine Metallabschirmung, die entfernt werden muss. Bei manchen Gehäusen kann diese
abgeschraubt werden, bei manchen ist sie vorsichtig herauszubrechen. Je nach Gehäuse ist dazu vorher
die komplette Frontblende des Gehäuses abzunehmen.
Sie benötigen ein optional erhältliches 15-poliges SATA-Stromkabel, um den Fronteinschub
mit Spannung zu versorgen. Zusätzlich benötigen Sie ein optional erhältliches USB 3.0-Kabel
mit einem B-Stecker, um den Fronteinschub mit dem USB-Anschluss des Mainboards zu
verbinden.
3. Verbinden Sie den USB-B-Stecker des USB-Kabels mit dem USB-B-Anschluss auf der Innenseite des
Fronteinschubs.
4. Verbinden Sie das 15-polige SATA-Stromkabel mit dem 15-poligen SATA-Stromanschluss auf der
Innenseite des Fronteinschubs.
5. Schieben Sie die Kabel und den Fronteinschub in den 3,5"-Einbauschacht Ihres Computergehäuses,
schrauben Sie den Fronteinschub danach mit den vier Schrauben fest.
6. Verbinden Sie nun das SATA-Stromkabel mit dem PC-Netzteil und das USB-Kabel mit dem entsprechenden
Anschluss auf dem Mainboard. Achten Sie dabei auf die Hinweise in der Anleitung des Mainboard- bzw.
PC-Netzteil-Herstellers.
7. Verlegen Sie die Kabel so, dass sie nicht in einen Lüfter des Computers gelangen können. Verwenden Sie
zur Fixierung z.B. Kabelbinder.
8. Verschließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers.
9. Verbinden Sie Ihren Computer und Monitor mit der Netzspannung und schalten Sie alle Geräte ein.
10. Startet Ihr Computer nicht korrekt, so schalten Sie Ihn sofort wieder aus und kontrollieren Sie sämtliche
Einstellungen und Kabelverbindungen.
Jeder der vier USB-Anschlüsse stellt einen Ausgangsstrom von 1500 mA bereit. Stellen Sie
daher sicher, dass die Stromaufnahme des angeschlossenen USB-Gerätes 1500 mA nicht
überschreitet. Verwenden Sie ansonsten ein optional erhältliches USB-Y-Kabel.

5. Tipps und Hinweise
• Das Produkt ist USB 2.0/1.1-kompatibel. Das bedeutet, dass herkömmliche USB 2.0/1.1-Geräte ohne
Probleme am Produkt betrieben werden können. Schneller werden die USB2.0/1.1-Geräte dabei aber
nicht!
• Um die hohe Geschwindigkeit von USB 3.0 ausnutzen zu können, müssen alle Geräte USB 3.0 unterstützen:
Das USB-Gerät selbst (z.B. eine externe Festplatte) und der USB-Controller im Computer.
• Die theoretische Maximalgeschwindigkeit von USB 3.0 (oder auch USB 2.0/1.1) wird im praktischen
Betrieb jedoch nie erreicht. Ursachen dafür sind Protokollinformationen, gleichzeitiger Betrieb mehrerer
USB-Geräte oder die Geschwindigkeitsbeschränkungen des angeschlossenen USB-Geräts oder USB-
Controllers/Mainboards.
• Unter DOS oder im abgesicherten Modus von Windows ist kein USB-Betrieb möglich. Je nach Computer
bzw. BIOS-/Setup-Einstellung ist der Betrieb einer USB-Tastatur und USB-Maus trotzdem möglich. Dazu
kann es jedoch erforderlich sein, dass diese direkt an den USB-Schnittstellen des Computers angeschlossen
sind und nicht an einem USB-Hub.
• USB-Geräte erlauben das Ein- und Ausstecken während dem Betrieb. Sie brauchen also nicht Ihren
Computer ausschalten, wenn Sie Geräte ein- oder ausstecken wollen (bei anderen Schnittstellen kann dies
zu Beschädigungen führen, z.B. wenn Sie eine PS/2-Maus während dem Betrieb ein- oder ausstecken).
• Finden jedoch Datenübertragungen auf dem USB-Port statt, z.B. wenn ein externes Laufwerk Daten an
den Computer liefert, und Sie ziehen den USB-Stecker heraus, könnte das Betriebssystem abstürzen,
außerdem kommt es zu Datenverlust oder gar einer Beschädigung des Dateisystems auf dem externen
Laufwerk!
• Bei Windows XP, Windows Vista oder Windows 7 erscheint bei manchen USB-Geräten (z.B. bei einer USB-
Festplatte) ein Symbol mit einem Pfeil in der Menüleiste. Über diese Funktion können Sie das USB-Gerät
vom Computer „trennen", dem Computer also mitteilen, dass er offene Dateien schließen soll. Danach kann
das USB-Gerät gefahrlos abgesteckt werden.
• Verwenden Sie zum Anschluss von USB 3.0-Geräten ausschließlich dazu geeignete USB 3.0-Kabel.
Beachten Sie, dass bei sehr langen USB 3.0-Kabeln die Datenübertragungsrate geringer werden kann.
6. Entsorgung
Im Interesse unserer Umwelt und um die verwendeten Rohstoffe möglichst vollständig zu
recyclen, ist der Verbraucher aufgefordert, gebrauchte und defekte Geräte zu den öffentlichen
Sammelstellen für Elektroschrott zu bringen.
Das Zeichen der durchgestrichenen Mülltonne mit Rädern bedeutet, dass dieses Produkt an einer
Sammelstelle für Elektronikschrott abgegeben werden muss.

1. Intended use
This product is suitable for installation in an 8.89 cm (3.5") slot of a PC housing, thereby providing four USB 3.0
connections. The power supply is obtained via the computer adaptor.
Unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the device are inadmissible because of safety and approval
reasons (CE). Any usage other than described above is not permitted and can damage the product and lead to
associated risks such as short-circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. Please read the operating instructions thoroughly
and keep them for further reference.

3. Safety instructions
We do not assume liability for resulting damages to property or personal injury if the
product has been abused in any way or damaged by improper use or failure to observe
these operating instructions. The warranty/ guarantee will then expire!

otherwise there is risk of danger.

and secured against unintended operation. Safe operation is no longer possible if the device:

- was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
- was subject to considerable transport stress.

4. Installation
When in doubt about how to install the device correctly, please contact an EXPERT or a
specialist workshop and let them carry out the installation.
In case of improper installation, the product as well as your computer and all connected
devices will be damaged.
Lethal Danger!
Switch off the computer in which the product is to be installed and all connected devices
and separate all devices from the mains voltage. Unplug the mains plug! To switch the
device off via the ON/OFF switch is not enough!
1. Open the housing of your computer and carefully take off the lid of the housing.
2. Look for a free 3.5" installation slot and remove the respective front cover. There may be a metal shield
behind it which needs to be removed. For some housings it can be screwed off, for some it has to be
carefully broken out. Depending on the housing the complete front cover of the housing has to be removed
beforehand.
An optionally available 15-pole SATA power cable is required in order to provide the front panel
with electricity. An optionally available USB 3.0 cable with a B connector is also required in order
to connect the front panel to the USB connection on the mainboard.
3. Connect the USB B connector of the USB cable with the USB B connection on the inside of the third front
panel.
4. Connect the 15-pole SATA power cable with the 15-pole SATA power connection on the inside of the front
panel.
5. Push the cable and the front panel into the 3.5" integrated slot of the computer housing, and then tighten
the front panel with four screws.
6. Now connect the SATA power cable to the PC adaptor and the USB cable to the corresponding connection
on the mainboard. In doing so, make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the mainboard and
PC adapter.
7. Lay the cables in a way so that they cannot get into a fan of the PC, to fasten them use, e.g. cable
fasteners.
8. Close the computer case.
9. Connect your computer and monitor with the mains voltage und switch on all devices.
10. If your computer does not start correctly, switch it off immediately and check all settings and cable
connections.
Each of the four USB connections provides an output current of 1500 mA. Therefore make sure
that the power consumption of the connected USB device does not exceed 1500 mA. Otherwise
use an optionally available USB Y cable.

5. Tips and notes
• The product is USB 2.0/1.1 compatible. This means that normal USB 2.0/1.1 devices can be used with no
problems on the USB3.0 Hub. However, this will not speed up the USB 2.0/1.1 devices!

• In order to take advantage of the high speed of USB 3.0, all devices must support USB 3.0: These devices
are the USB device itself (e.g. an external hard disk) and the USB controller inside the PC.
• However, the theoretical maximum speed of USB 3.0 (or also USB 2.0/1.1) is never reached during
practical operation. The reasons are protocol information, simultaneous operation of several USB devices
or the speed limit of the connected device or the USB controllers/mainboards.
• Normally, USB operation is not possible in DOS or in the protected mode of Windows. Nevertheless,
depending on the computer or BIOS /Setup settings, it possible to use a USB keyboard and a USB mouse.
It is necessary, however, to connect them directly to the computer's USB interface, i.e. not to a USB Hub.
• USB devices can be plugged in and unplugged while the PC is in use. This means that you do not have to
switch off your computer, when you want to plug in or unplug devices (with other interfaces this can cause
damage, e.g. if you connect or disconnect a PS/2 mouse during operation).
• If data transfers are in progress on the USB port, e.g. if an external disk is inputting data to the computer, and
you unplug the USB plug, Windows might crash or the data system on the exernal disk may be damaged!
• For some USB devices (e.g. USB hard drives) Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 displays an icon
with an arrow in the menu bar. You can „separate" the USB device from the computer using this function,
and thus instruct the computer to close opened files. Afterwards, the USB device can be unplugged safely.
• Only use suitable USB 3.0 cables for the connection of USB 3.0 devices. Please note that with very long
USB 3.0 cables the data transfer rate may decrease.
6. Disposal
In order to preserve, protect and improve the quality of environment, protect human health and
utilise natural resources prudently and rationally, the user should return unserviceable product to
relevant facilities in accordance with statutory regulations.
The crossed-out wheeled bin indicates the product needs to be disposed separately and not as
municipal waste.
