• Resolution:
"Resolution" designates the number of dots or pixels on a screen (or a digital camera), e.g. 1280*1024 means that
there are 1280 horizontal dots and 1024 vertical dots or lines).
TFT monitors have a fixed resolution that should be adjusted when displaying a computer picture. Otherwise the
display may be blurred.
Tube monitors can display different resolutions but the performance depends on the quality of the monitor.
• SVideo:
In an S-video signal, the brightness and colour information are transmitted on separate lines. This results in a
better picture quality.
• TFT:
Stands for Thin Film Transistor, today "TFT" is used to refer to flat screens. You can also say LCD, LC monitor
or LCD monitor, they all mean the same.
