b) Charging mobile devices
(5)
(D)
(E)
• Connect the micro USB plug (E) of the USB power cable (5) to the micro USB port
INPUT: 5 V/DC, 2A (1).
• Connect the USB A plug (D) to an available USB port of an external USB power
adapter (not included) or any other USB power source.
• You may connect up to four mobile devices to the USB ports (2) using suitable cables.
• When the USB hub works in "bus-powered mode", the 500 mA supplied by the
USB 2.0 port of the computer will be distributed to one to four output ports, resulting
in only approx. 125 mA available per each port and connected device. The fewer
devices are connected, the higher the total current available for each connected
port (1 port connected 500 mA, 2 ports 375 mA, 3 ports 250 mA, 4 ports 125 mA).
• Use an external USB power adapter when connecting the OTG hub to devices with
higher total power requirements. A total charging current of 2 A is then available
and will be distributed to one to four output ports. That results in approx. 500 mA
available per each port. Connecting fewer ports results in a higher total current
available per each connected port (1 port connected 2A, 2 ports 1.5 A, 3 ports
1 A, 4 ports 500 mA). Make sure that the total current consumption of all devices
connected does not exceed 2 A.
The USB power cable (5) is only intended for charging. Data transfer is not
supported.
c) Use as USB hub
(3)
(A)
(B)
• Connect the micro USB plug (A) of the micro USB OTG cable (3) to the micro USB
port (B) of the USB connection cable (6).
• Connect the USB A plug (C) of the USB connection cable (6) to an available USB port
on your computer. The operating system recognizes new hardware and installs the
necessary drivers automatically; they are part of the operating system.
• You may connect up to four terminal devices to the USB ports (2). Depending on
the USB device, the operating system recognizes new hardware and installs any
necessary drivers. Read the USB device's operating instructions for information
on how to proceed. For example, Windows uses its own drivers to operate USB
devices (USB sticks, USB mice, etc.).
• The product can be operated without external power supply. In such a case, the
hub works in "bus-powered mode". That means that the current supplied by the
computer via USB (by default 500 mA for USB 2.0) will be distributed to all ports.
That is usually sufficient for most USB sticks, mice or keyboards. Nevertheless,
many other devices might then not work properly anymore (for example external
6.35 cm/2.5" hard drives, card readers with CompactFlash hard drive, USB cameras,
or similar).
• USB devices can be connected and disconnected during use. It is therefore not
necessary to switch off your computer when connecting or disconnecting devices
(in case of other interfaces, that could result in damage, e.g. when connecting or
disconnecting a PS/2 mouse during use). But when transferring data via the USB
port, e.g. if disconnecting the USB plug while transferring data from an external
drive to the computer, the operating system could crash, resulting in data loss or
even damaging the file system of the external drive!
• For Windows 7, some USB devices (e.g. USB hard drives) might display a symbol
with an arrow in the menu bar. Using this function, you can "disconnect" the USB
device from the computer; therefore inform the computer that it should close any
open files. It is then safe to unplug the USB device.
• DOS and the Windows Safe Mode do not support USB operation. Depending on the
computer or BIOS/setup settings, the use of a USB keyboard or USB mouse is still
possible. This, however, might require the USB keyboard or mouse to be connected
to the USB interfaces of the computer directly rather than to the USB hub itself.
(6)
(C)
d) Use as OTG hub
(3)
(A)
• Connect the micro USB plug (A) of the micro USB OTG cable (3) to the micro USB
port of your Android device.
• You may connect up to four peripheral devices to the product.
• It is also possible to combine devices and storage media. This, nevertheless, is
limited by the maximum current supplied by your smartphone or tablet. Only one
storage medium at a time can be read or recorded. Some USB devices feature
higher current consumption than delivered by mobile devices. Those cannot be
connected to the OTG hub. External hard drives cannot be used.
• Before disconnecting a device, USB stick or memory card from the hub, deactivate
it first through the operating system. Otherwise your data or memory could get
corrupted. Also refer to the operating instructions of your Android device.

Maintenance and cleaning

• Under no circumstances use aggressive cleanings agents, cleaning alcohol or other
chemical solutions since these can penetrate the housing or impair functionality.
• This product does not require maintenance. There are no user-serviceable parts
inside the product. Therefore never open the product.
• Disconnect any connected cable before cleaning the product.
• Disconnect all devices from the power supply before cleaning.
• Use a dry, soft and clean cloth for cleaning the exterior surface. Do not apply too
much pressure to the housing to prevent scratching.
• You can easily remove dust using a long-haired, soft and clean brush.
• Do not immerse the product and accessories into water.
• Use a piece of tape to carefully remove any dust from the suction cups.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the
household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with
applicable regulatory guidelines.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection
of the environment.
