Setup functions
Setting the time zone and the language for the calendar display:
Press and hold down the SET/WAVE button for some seconds; the device goes into setup mode. The
weekday display shows the abbreviation for the language, e.g. „EN".
• Press the button – to switch between the different display languages for the weekday.
EN = Display of the weekday abbreviation in English
DE = Display of the weekday abbreviation in German
FR = Display of the weekday abbreviation in French
IT = Display of the weekday abbreviation in Italian
• Press the button + if you want to change the time zone. You usually do not have to perform this set-
ting in Germany, as the time zone coincides with the information of the DCF signal.
0 = the current DCF time is not changed
1 = one hour is added automatically to the current DCF time
- 1 = one hour is subtracted automatically to the current DCF time
The time zone setting is required if you are in a country where you can receive the
DCF signal but the time zone deviates from the time zone valid in Germany.
Setting the calendar:
• After setting the time zone and the language, briefly press the button SET/WAVE. The device switches
to the setup function for the calendar. The number for the year blinks.
• You only have to set the calendar if the device has no DCF reception; otherwise the device sets the
calendar automatically after reception of the DCF signal. You can skip this setting by pressing the but-
ton SET/WAVE twice. Otherwise proceed as follows for setting the calendar.
• Press the button – or + to change the year.
• Press the button SET/WAVE to confirm the entry of the year; then the month and date display starts
to blink.
• Press the button – or + to set the day. Only the date changes. The month changes automatically once
you exceed the number of days in the month in question.
During setup, keep the button – or + depressed to speed up the values (quick set).
The day of the week is calculated automatically, so you do not need to set it.
Setting the time:
• Once you have set the calendar, briefly press the SET/WAVE button and the device switches to the
time setup function. The time blinks.
• You only need to set the time when the device has no DCF reception. You can skip this setting by pres-
sing the button SET/WAVE . Otherwise proceed as follows for setting the time.
• Press the button – or + to set the current time.
During setup, keep the button – or + depressed to speed up the values (quick set).
Setting the 12/24-hr format for the time and setting the temperature format degrees Celsius (°C)
or degrees Fahrenheit (°F):
• After setting the time, briefly press the button SET/WAVE. The device switches to the setup function
for the time and temperature format. 12Hr or 24Hr and the temperature display blink.
• Press the button + to alternate between 12 or 24-hr format for the time.
In 12 hour format, the time is displayed with 12 hours. To differ between the first and
second half of the day, „PM" is displayed in this format during the second half of the
day.
If the clock is set to 24 hr format, „24HR" is displayed in front of the time.
• Press the button – to switch between the display format °C (degrees Celsius) or °F (degrees
Fahrenheit) for the temperature.
• Press the button SET/WAVE to confirm the entry and leave the setup function.
Alarm function
If the alarm function is activated, a series of bleeps sound at the programmed time and the display lights
up briefly.
Checking and setting the alarm time
The device must be in normal time display mode.
To check the alarm time, press the – button or the + button briefly. The device switches to the alarm
time display. The alarm time and „AL" appear on the display.
To set the alarm time, switch to alarm time display mode and press either the – or the + button.
Hold the button - or + down to accelerate the setting (quick adjustment).
If no other button is pressed, the device exits the alarm time display mode automatically shortly after-
wards.
Activating / deactivating the alarm function
The SNZ/ALM ON/ ALM OFF button activates the different alarm functions or deactivates the alarm
function.
Position „SNZ" = the alarm with snooze function is activated
Position "ALM ON" = the alarm is on
Position "ALM OFF" = The alarm is off
Alarm without snooze function
Slide the SNZ/ALM ON/ ALM OFF button to the „ALM ON" position. The alarm function is activated and
the alarm symbol appears on the display
alarm by pressing the SNOOZE/LIGHT button. The alarm will sound the next day again at the set time.
To deactivate the alarm function, slide the SNZ/ALM ON/ ALM OFF button to the „ALM OFF" position.

Alarm with SNOOZE function
Slide the SNZ/ALM ON/ ALM OFF button to the „SNZ" position. The alarm function is activated with the
snooze function, the alarm symbol
goes off at the time set. Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT function to interrupt the alarm for approximately
5 minutes. If the alarm is not stopped beforehand, the device automatically interrupts the alarm after
one minute. The alarm sounds again after approximately 5 minutes.
To deactivate the alarm with snooze function, slide the SNZ/ALM ON/ ALM OFF button to the „ALM OFF"
position.
Daylight savings time function (DST)
The „DST" symbol appears on the display during the daylight saving period.
Temperature display
The current temperature is displayed on the bottom right of the table clock. The temperature display
shows „Hi" or „Lo" in case the temperature measuring range is exceeded or undercut.
Display light
Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button and the display is briefly illuminated.
RESET (reset to factory settings)
In case of electrostatic discharge, it may be possible that the clock malfunctions (e.g. strange charac-
ters on the display). In this case, perform a RESET (reset to factory settings). Press the RESET button
with a pointed object, e.g. a toothpick. The display switches off briefly and then reappears. The clock
will start to search for the DCF signal. Previously programmed data, such as the alarm time, will be lost
and should be set again, if necessary.
Maintenance, cleaning and service instructions
The table clock is maintenance-free apart from changing the batteries, therefore you should never open
it. If you do open it, the warranty will be rendered null and void. The outside of the device should be
cleaned with a clean dry cloth or brush only. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or chemical solutions
which could damage the housing or the display or impair operation.
Disposal
Dispose of the device in accordance with the valid statutory regulations once it has become
unusable.
Disposal of flat batteries/rechargeable batteries
You, as the ultimate consumer, are legally obliged(Battery Ordinance) to return all used batte-
ries and accumulators; disposal in the household waste is prohibited!
Pollutant-containing batteries/accumulators are identified by the symbols alongside which
draw attention to the prohibition of disposal with domestic waste. The designations for the cri-
tical heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. You can return flat
batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge to the collection points in your community, our
branches or anywhere else where batteries or rechargeable batteries are sold.
You will thus carry out your legal obligations and contribute to the protection of our environ-
ment.
