g Operating instruction
The "Schuko" Car DC/AC Inverter offers maximum
reliability and safety in all situations. Before using the
device for the first time, familiarise yourself thoroughly
with the following operating and safety instructions and
follow them at all times for your own safety. They are
intended to prevent health risks, damage to the inverter,
connected devices and your vehicle.
Controls and components
1. Green LED ("On" indicator)
2. On/Off switch
3. AC output (shockproof socket)
4. Connection line for cigarette lighter (9.5–15 V)
Before starting
1. Before starting, please check the power consumption
of the device you want to connect.
2. The energy requirement is generally specified in watts
or VA on the devices. If in doubt, consult the operating
manual of the device or ask the manufacturer.
3. Ensure that the power consumption of the device does
not exceed the constant capacity of the inverter.
4. The inverter switches off automatically when over
loaded. The inverter can be used again as usual after
the overload is removed. To do so, simply switch off
the inverter and then switch it back on.
Connecting and handling the inverter
1. Ensure that the on/off switch is set to position 0 (off).
2. Insert the cigarette lighter plug into the cigarette
lighter socket of your vehicle. Ensure that the plug is
securely in place and that the cable is free from strain.
3. Switch on the inverter (move the on/off switch to
position I).
Warning
Transfer resistances can cause voltage drops which
interfere with the function of the device and/or can cause
the contacts to spark or heat up. You must therefore
always ensure that the plug and socket contacts are
smooth and clean, and that they fit securely without play.

Protective features of the inverter and troubleshooting
Residual current protection
Short circuit protection
Low voltage protection
Overvoltage protection
Overload protection
Heat protection
If one of the protection circuits is triggered, try to find the
cause and rectify it.
The inverter is not damaged when one of the safety
circuits is triggered. After the inverter has been switched
off and on again, it operates normally again, provided the
cause of the fault has been rectified.
If the inverter does not work, the cause could also be an
incorrect polarity of the input voltage (plus and minus the
wrong way around). Check the polarity of the cigarette
lighter. The centre contact must be the positive (+)
contact.
If the permitted load of the cigarette lighter is exceeded,
the lighter fuse in your vehicle is triggered. If this occurs,
consult the manual for your vehicle or contact the manuf-
acturer or dealer's workshop.
If there is a residual current
of at least 30 mA on the PE
conductor, the device
deactivates automatically.
The inverter deactivates
automatically if a short
circuit occurs.
The inverter deactivates
automatically if the battery
voltage drops to 9.5 V.
At input voltages of 15.0 V or
more, the inverter
deactivates automatically.
If the maximum output
current of 100 W is exceeded
for extended periods, or
the pulse load exceeds 280
W, the inverter deactivates
automatically.
If the battery temperature
reaches 60 °C or more,
the inverter deactivates
automatically.
