these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequen-
tial damage!
Nor do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases,

• The product is not a toy. Keep devices that operate on the mains voltage out of the
reach of children. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• The product is only intended for use in dry, indoor locations. No part of the product
should become damp or wet; never handle it if your hands are wet!
Wall plug transformers have the potential to cause a fatal electric shock!
• The design of the wall plug transformer complies with Protection Class II. Use only
a standard mains socket as power source for the wall plug transformer.
• Only use the wall plug transformer which is provided to power the docking station.
• Do not pull the wall plug transformer from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.
Hold it on the sides of its casing and pull it out of the mains socket.
• If the wall plug transformer is damaged, do not touch it; there is danger to life from
electric shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage at the socket to which the wall plug transformer
is connected (switch off the corresponding circuit breaker, remove the safety fuse
or switch off the corresponding RCD protective switch, so that the socket is fully
disconnected).
You can then unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket. Dispose of
the faulty wall plug transformer in an environmentally friendly way, do not use it
anymore. Replace it by a wall plug transformer of the same design.

things for children.

Connecting the iPad
www.conrad.com
Version 07/12
• First, switch off the iPad and disconnect the docking station from its power source.
• Connect the handset using the corresponding cable to the "Handset" input on the back of the
docking station.
• Insert the docking cable provided with your iPad into your iPad. Now insert the cable through
the opening on the left side of the docking station.
• In the 1st generation iPads, (iPad1) the audio cable with which it is provided must also be
connected to the iPad; without this, no audio transmission to the handset is possible. The
iPad 1 does not support the required Bluetooth profi le for hands-free operation.
Insert this cable also through the opening on the left side of the docking station and insert it
into the "Audio" input on the back.
In 2nd or 3rd generation iPads (iPad 2 or "the new iPad"), the audio transfer to the docking
station is carried out via Bluetooth; the cable is not required for this (although you can choose
to use it instead of connecting via Bluetooth).
• Insert the iPad carefully into the drawer on the front of the docking station, making sure
that the docking cable points to the left. Do not exert any force. Ensure that the cable is not
pinched when you do this. Pull the cable gently to the back.
• Using the slide switch: "charge/Sync" allows you to select any of the following functions:
"charge": Use this switch setting to charge the iPad via the docking station's wall plug trans-
"Sync":
• Place the docking station with the iPad inserted inside onto a stable, fl at, suffi ciently large
surface. Protect the surfaces of valuable furniture by using an appropriate underlay to avoid
scratches and pressure marks.
• Connect the low voltage plug from the wall plug transformer included in the delivery at the
corresponding input on the back of the docking station.
• Connect the wall plug transformer to the mains voltage; plug it into a mains socket. The blue
Power LED at the top, right-hand side on the docking station will light up.
• The slide switch: "Speaker ON/OFF" switches on (switch setting: "ON") or off ("OFF") the
in-built loudspeaker (hands-free function).
Bluetooth connection
• If you have not already done so, fi rst switch the docking station on.
• In the "Settings" menu on the iPad under "General", switch the Bluetooth function on.
• Wait until the iPad fi nds the docking station ("eyedock"). Using the iPad's on-screen touch
selection, allow the so-called "Pairing" process to be carried out. After a few seconds, the
display should indicate that the docking station is connected with the iPad.
Observe the information and diagrams in the manufacturer's operating instructions.
These are provided either in printed form or as PDF on a CD.
In the 1st generation iPad (iPad1), the audio cable must also be inserted through the
opening on the left side of the docking station towards the back.
former.
A charge current of up to 2 A is possible.
The iPad can be connected to a computer using a USB connection in order, for
example, to transfer data or to synchronise.
For this function, use a suitable cable to connect the"USB to PC" input on the rear
of the docking station to a USB port on your computer.
Important!
After switching over, the USB stick, if used, to connect the iPad and the docking
station must be briefl y disconnected then reconnected so that the iPad recognises
the switchover.
Simultaneous charging via the docking station's wall plug transformer and data
transfer via USB connection is not one of the design features of this equipment.
The iPad uses a specifi c voltage level at the two data cables of the USB connection
to recognise the permissible charge current, which means that both functions are
never possible simultaneously.
For iOS5 and higher, it is also possible to synchronise over WiFi / WLAN without
the requirement of a cable connection. For this function, refer either to the operating
instructions, or to the manufacturer's instructions for the iPad or for the iOS operat-
ing system.
As described above, no Bluetooth connection is possible on the 1st generation iPad
(iPad 1). Therefore, use the audio cable included in the delivery.
If you are prompted to enter a password, e.g., if you want to connect a different
tablet, a notebook or a smartphone with the docking station, enter "0000" (the fi gure:
"0" four times).
