The batteries should be replaced if the function LED (2) fl ashes red on the front (this
could also signal that the memory card is full!) or the time-lapse camera cannot be
turned on. An "empty battery" icon on the LC display will indicate this.
• Before putting the cover on the back of the time-lapse camera and installing it at the desired
location, programming must be executed fi rst, see "Operation / Programming". Adjust the
time and then the interval for taking photo as described there (e.g. 24 hours).
• After programming, replace the cover on the rear side and close it by pushing upwards. Lock
the cover on the time-lapse camera by moving the fastening slide to the right position.
Screw the three-part stand foot together and attach it to the thread (3) at the lower end of the
time-lapse camera.
Place the foot with ground stake in the garden at the desired location, and aim the camera
accordingly. Do not use any tools to secure the foot. If the soil is too hard, choose a different
location. Alternatively, the foot can also be secured using a few stones.
The installation site should not exposed to the sun the whole day, as this may result in over-
heating and damage to the time-lapse camera.
Focus the image of the camera by turning the lens (1); see marks "
(macro). Check the picture on the LC display.
The time-lapse camera should be installed such that it lies between the sun and the object
to be monitored, namely the sun should be "behind" the camera (or to its side). Otherwise,
unintended refl ections or overexposure may occur.

• When connecting for the fi rst time, the operating system recognises the new hardware and
installs it (drivers are included in Windows XP and above); only a new memory card reader is
recognised by the OS.
• A memory card inserted in the time-lapse camera may now be read directly ; it works exactly
like a commercially available memory card reader.
• To read the memory card, you can also remove it from the time-lapse camera and insert it into
another memory card reader in your computer. However, this must be compatible with SHDC
memory cards.

In order to observe the growth of a plant, a time interval of 24 hours should be
suffi cient, wherein you start the recording, e.g. in the morning at 09:00 (then a
picture is taken everyday at 09:00 am and automatically added to the AVI fi le on the
memory card).
If you set a very short interval (e.g. 5 seconds), the batteries may become fl at in just
